Came here for a quick lunch. Lots of options on menu. Atmosphere is lots of locals. Server was friendly. Food was decent. Cheap prices too! Would stop again.

We'd stayed in a cabin and did most of our own cooking during our trip, but on our last day we decided to check out one of the local restaurants. There's nothing gourmet about this place (I come from a family of very skilled home...cooks and can tell that various things were pre-packaged) but we just wanted some simple comfort food. Both my husband and I were craving open faced sandwiches, and that was one of their menu - the mashed potatoes and gravy were nothing fancy, but very tasty. My mom and sister got reubens and they were good, but the bread was so greasy/soggy they had to wipe the grease off before they could actually eat them. Overall it was a friendly, simple place - good for a quick meal, but not if you're looking for something fancy (or particularly healthy).More
Stopped in to have dinner before we went to Tecumseh. Loved the atmosphere of the place. Awesome hometown dinner and the food and service were awesome. We will be stopping in again on our way through that area.
We stopped in for a bite to eat while camping at Tar Hollow and the lunch we had was very good and service was fast and friendly. Had many locals dining as well which brought a friendly and welcomed atmosphere to the diner.
Food it great, waitresses helpful. We staying in the area and would go again if we are nearby. The pies are homemade. I would go back just for pie.
If you are in the Hocking Hills area, this is a good place to get a home-cooked meal.Good food, good prices, not fancy, but would stop again. Homemade pies, very good service.
Service was very good, food was very good and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the biscuits and gravy as well as the hash browns.
My first meal here in well over a year. What has happened ? This used to be a fine little local restaurant for me. My wife and I both ordered the "special of the day" which was beef and noodles with mashed potatoes and whole...kernel. I was asked if I would like wheat bread or white bread with my meal. I chose the wheat bread which was promptly served along with mold on the crust. I exchanged the tainted bread for white bread. Now, the meals are brought to our table and it may have been pretty good if it were served hot. So far, things aren't going well but I will say the iced tea was excellent. Now, I take the bill to the young girl at the cash register. I really was content in paying the bill and leaving, but she asked how everything was. SO, I TOLD HER ,"It would probably have been good if the food was hot. She replied, "Yeah, we had complaints about that last night, too." WOW, DO YOU THINK THERE'S A PROBLEM. Hold on, it gets better ! Our bill was $21.07. I hand the girl the 7 cents along with a 20 and a 10 dollar bill She gives me $4.00 back. I said, " I think you owe me 5 more dollars" and she laughed and started to walk off. I said, "No, really" . She looks at me like I'm ripping her off and hands me a five. As small as this town is, there are 3 restaurants. So I guess it's my own fault for picking the wrong one !More
Hungry, on the road, stopped for lunch. Imagine finding a lunch special for $6 that filled you up! Definitely a locals place, enjoyed this "neighborhood gem" as Trip Advisor likes to call them. But, why only a "3" rating? Well, sloppy Joe for her and...a brat on bun with sides of Mac & chess and pork & beans was not haute cuisine, more like a fill-you-up. Gotta say the vege soup was very good. Reminded me of days of hard work, not fancy food. Glad I found you, thanks for the welcome feeling.More
