Beautiful place for lunch on a sunny day. Not the most amazing food but well done and nicely presented. A little expensive perhaps especially if you opt for their home-grown wines but nonetheless an excellent place for lunch. The servings are generous and left me no room for dessert which is a shame. They did sound great too. A lovely... More

We have nothing but praise for our experience at Home Hill. The service was polite, friendly and prompt without being in your face and pushy. The food was just lovely. We had the lamb and beef and they were both cooked to perfection. The location speaks for itself, with a lot of care shown to make the restaurant a little... More

Top place for family and or friends to gather for a treat. Might be a little on the exxie side but well worth the money. Decor, coffees, food, wine, all matched with beautiful views of the valley. Well worthwhile for that special occasion.

The staff here were quite rude and dismissive. We were not welcomed or made feel welcome. My interstate guest and I have never been treated so rudely in the hundreds of wine tastings we've done. We did a tasting, if you could call it that. The staff member told us the tasting notes explained everything, poured a mouthful of wine... More

Home Hill is well worth the drive down to the valley of love. Food is brilliant. Our sardines and whitebait starters were sublime. The confit duck for mains was superb, the slow cooked beef was sensational. Beautifully cooked. We chose the Jimmy Watson medal winning Home Hill Reserve Pinot...wow its really something. Dessert was equally impressive. Delicious chocky and malt... More

We're visitors to Tasmania and wanted to experience a taste of Tasmanian wines. Home Hill wines came up as a highly recommended destination, so we drove from Hobart to the Huonville to experience their wines. On their website they said they served morning tea daily from 10 -12 when we got there the restaurant was set up for a Mother's... More

One of the best lunches we have had. Food is locally sourced from the amazing Huon Valley and cooked to perfection. Fabulous friendly and constant service. I had the duck which was succulent and oh so delicious. My friends had the pork, the beef and mushroom tagliatelle...all were very impressed. My sister who is a beef farmer from the pristine... Driving around the Huon Valley I googled Options for lunch on TripAdvisor. This came up just as we were entering Ranelagh and I directed my husband from there. He kept asking what sort of place we were going to and I told to just jeep driving. He was as delighted as I when we arrived. Elegant but casual lunch, with... More

Great crispy quail and ocean trout for entree ($19), followed by short beef rib and confit duck ($38) Both matched beautifully with Sylvaner and Pinot Noir ($9). Without a doubt the best place for lunch in the Huon Valley on a sunny day.
