If you love real authentic Indian food, Taj Mahal in Devonport will certainly not disappoint. The service is impeccable. The food... oh my!! As well, if you were after take-away, they have the best online ordering system and deliver promptly.

We had dinner here as a family. We choose one of the banquets. Samosas were yum. The food was really nice only negative was there fridge was on the fritz so the drinks were a bit warm and the icecream was melted still a nice evening though.

Am absolutely appalled with this place. Ordered the Banquet and got everything but the rice. Waited a bit and then asked about it. They had forgotten. We were told they will get onto it. 15 mins later still nothing. Asked again and complained that the rest was now cold so said we wanted new stuff. They told us they would... More

I enjoyed the food at Taj Mahal, but the price difference between the dine-in and take-away servings is steep. The price for soft drinks is also steep considering you don't seem to get the entire can the beverage apparently comes from. It's decent food, but the prices and service really let the total experience down.

the rice was full of seeds and herbs, which I know are authentic but there should be an option for plain rice, and there isn't. butter chicken was mediocre, as was the rogan josh. the naans were burnt but the service was good. so atleast we didn't have rude staff aswell as ordinary meals. there is better indian in Devonport,... We needed somewhere to eat early on a Friday night before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania. After reading very favourable reviews on Trip Advisor for this restaurant we decided to give it a go. So glad we did. The food was beautiful. My lamb biryani was tender with just the right amount of flavour. My husband had the Bombay Lamb... More

This is a great place for delicious Indian cuisine. TG was warned about the heat of his chosen dish and it did not disappoint. While initially he found it mild, by the end his sinuses were well cleaned out! I had a lovely chicken curry that overflowed with flavour. While the restaurant is large, the atmosphere is pleasant and cosy.... More

Lots of gluten free options (which is normal standard in Indian cooking) we went on a week night (think it was a Thursday) anyways, as we got there one table was finishing up, and then we literally sat in a completely empty space, food was pretty good I enjoyed the flavors, staff has a bit of a visible tiff about...
