Had an excellent meal at Ashcrofts with our two kids. My partner and I shared the lamb rump for two, excellent jus, with accompanying carrots, cavellero Nero, with a salsa verde. Our son had the salmon and judging by the speed that it was consumed it was very good. Our daughter had the gnocchi but ended up sharing our lamb.... More

We were advised by a new friend that Ashcrofts was THE place to go for breakfast and who were we to argue ? SO glad we didn't know the area and choose to go somewhere else because this little cafe is brilliant. The coffee was delicious and delivered promptly, the service was friendly, funny and efficient and our breakfast were... More

Truly superb quality presentation and taste. We dined for lunch and the meals were creative, beautiful and unique. I can highly recommend the salmon fillet served on a bed of very finely diced leeks and potatoes, bathed in a delightfully light but rich white sauce. My partner had the double baked cheese souffle, served in its own small cast pan,... More

Ashcrofts do breakfast, lunch & dinner. How they manage that & maintain an excellent level of food quality & service is a miracle. The dishes are fresh, tasty & creative. The table service friendly & efficient. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a wonderful meal. The pork belly and Gruyere/pear entree's were yum. We followed on with the Lamb. Double yum!! Unfortunately didn't have any room for desert but as they were going past - they looked delicious. Couldn't fault the service.

We ate at this great bistro mid week. It was not crowded. It was unpretentious in decor, but not in food presentation. The food appeared to,be sourced locally and the servings generous.. The service was excellent. I'd go back there any time

Came here for lunch on Sunday since we came here when it was a 1-hat restaurant many years ago and were extremely impressed. I knew the fine dining format has been replaced by a more casual and bistro feel, however, I never anticipated the quality of the food to have deteriorated so far! Service was extremely slow. It was impossible... More

I had dinner her with three friends recently. The restaurant was nearly full on a Thursday night in frigid weather. I think that's a sign of greatness. I'm not sure if the maitre de was also the owner but he did have a great live if the place. He was friendly yet professional and was the perfect host with great... More

My partner and I had dinner here on a Saturday night in June. We had made a booking to ensure we got a table, as I'd been told the restaurant is popular. We arrived on time and were offered complementary bread, which was delicious. We both opted to order mains and have a side. I ordered gnocchi with a side... More
