Lovely pub in traditional style with a roaring log fire in the corner. Had Sunday lunch and it was good. Good selection of veg and good roast potatoes. Got the mixed roast platter and only issue I'd say was the beef was a bit tough but ham and turkey were ace. Staff friendly and efficient and always around to take... More

Went for a meal just prior to Christmas with a group of friends. We had pre-booked and pre-ordered our menu choices. Service was very slow and we had to wait over 40mins for our starters. The standard of the food (all courses) left much to be desired. Food was lukewarm and 'slopped' onto the plates. Vegetables were very overcooked. Some... More

It looks really good from outside and when you go in. The menu looks promising and there seemed to be plenty of Christmas parties in. But the service is decidedly shrugging, and the food well below what you might expect. The 'Eton Mess' was extraordinary - it seemed to have chunks of summer pudding or red sponge in a creamy... Went for a pub meal before Christmas, meeting up with family. I'd booked a table but a couple more were coming so I'd left a message on answer machine to inform them, had not been picked up, we were put in the 'overflow' bit downstairs so not much atmosphere. Service was very slow, food was not tasty. Margarita pizza tasted... More

Had the set menu for £17.95 for 2 courses. Had the steak (which also came with a £2 supplement) on the plate was the steak and 10 chips. Nothing else! Food was ok however it was Terrible value for money. Well over priced!

Went for a works meal, my starter was pork pate off the Christmas fixed menu. The pate was served with bland bread and no butter and a dollop of apple sauce. One slice of pate was fine but the second was discoloured, slimy and stank. I complained to the barman who was apologetic but they still charged us. The rest... More

A good traditional pub that is good for an evening ale. Decent beer selection with good food that has a good evening atmosphere.

Four of us went for lunch - dreadfully slow service, we wanted a relaxing lunch but that was far too long to wait! Three of us had salads which were good, apart from the chicken on my cesar salad (dry and chewy) Grand child asked for rump steak. He wanted it med / well. He was struggling to eat the... More
