The Black Horse Inn is such a great pub. The beers are high quality, and the interesting guest ales change regularly. There’s a wide range of spirits to choose from which is always great. The food here is amazing, the Thai food here is absolutely...delightful. It’s reasonably priced, and is beautifully presented. Quick and efficient service. (I would recommend booking) The staff here are friendly and helpful, there’s no problem to big or small. There’s a really cosy feel to the place, the decor is traditional. This is a great place that I’d highly recommend. Keep up the great work!More

OMG!!!! Amazing. Loved it. The food was authentic and delightful. Cannot fault. We had the fish cakes and soup then the duck red curry and the beef with chilli and green peppers. We shared a rice which was definitely enough and the Thai prawn crackers....If I lived here I would make this my local (wherever I lived). Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his family tonight. What a wonderfully forward thinking family. Absolutely fabulous experience. Gorgeous food. Beautifully kept beers and lovely atmosphere. We left after eating, walked the town to find somewhere for a pint and returned within 15 mins. We ended up staying until the final bell. Thank you Gabe for a loverly evening. We felt so welcome.More

Spent a very nice evening with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our meal....when we eventually got it. The service was unusually very slow this evening even though the restaurant wasn't busy, which took the edge off it. People who came in after us were served well...before us. Shame really, as we do like eating here.More

Last came here in 2013 and like then it is still excellent. We had the lunchtime menu chicken satay and prawn green curry for me and vegetable spring rolls and sweet and sour pork for my friend. Starters and mains were all delicious with plenty of...flavour and just the right amount of time between courses.. The pub itself is quaint and quirky with a roaring fire and exceptional staff. A fantastic Thai restaurant.More

We came to the Black Horse for lunch on our way to the Cotswolds Distillery for a tour. Warm greeting from Gabe, super friendly service from the lovely young waitress, huge selection of Thai food - somewhat surprising if you were expecting English pub grub...in a thatched 16th century pub! We chose from the fixed price lunch menu; we both had the chicken satay for starters and beef massaman curry and chicken massaman curry with rice for mains. All absolutely gorgeous, hot, tasty and well presented. With a large glass of wine each, £35 - brilliant value. We will be back.More

We wanted to see 'old england' and spend a bit of time in the country. Our guide, Peter (Peter Shelley--fun and knowledgeable local that does tours...find him! cotswoldsbycar.uk) was so kind in sharing his neighborhood hang out on a Sunday afternoon. Local beer, local folks,...and a grand way to sample this wonderful part of England. Basic British fare but so nice to have amongst friends.More

This is an ancient stone pub with a thatched roof. The main bar is very cosy, with exposed stone walls, oak beams and a huge open fire. It very much has the look and feel of a rustic pub in a small village, but surprisingly...it lies in a residential area just north of Shipston town centre. There are three handpumps offering a well chosen selection of ales mainly from smaller independent and sometimes local breweries. The other big surprise here is the menu, which is Thai - and not just a handful of Thai choices but the full menu that you would expect in a Thai restaurant. The restaurant is in a separate room to the side of the bar, but they are perfectly happy for you to eat in the bar if, as I do, you prefer. The food is very good and reasonably priced. There is also an excellent Victorian postbox set in the wall of the pub.More

I dream of finding pubs like this ! Beautiful traditional low ceiled cosy bar. Amazing fire. More cosy than posy. Extremely helpful staff. Bearded very tall barman and blonde haired barmaid very welcoming. Barman helped us with our beer selection. Both very old school professional.... Some entertaining and friendly locals in bar added to atmosphere. Stout was lovely. That’s enough blowing smoke up your arse. Needless to say you made a grumpy old man very happy. A non- partisan pub you can believe in. What’s not to love!!! We will be back if you let us in.More
