The pub itself is a lovely cute little place, but that's really where it ends. We came here as part of our team xmas dinner and I am sorry but the food was awful! We had deep fried potatoes (not roasties) rock solid jaw breaking...beef, Trout was offered on the menu, but we got Salmon (twice, as a starter as well) and desert was just as bad. Maybe the chef was approaching the end of his shift, was getting ready to leave for the day and couldn't be bothered to cook! We were pretty much left to it and no one really bothered to offer a service of drinks etc. On the whole, I returned a full plate of food and went home and had a proper dinner, for me, the food was inedible. Maybe its a lovely place for drinks - but for food, AVOID, seriously disappointed. :-(More

I got the recommendation from Trip Advisor myself and I was very happy with the food, service and the pub itself. A nice place to drop into. Nice, friendly staff as well.

Really great local pub. Good selection of ales. Polite staff. Great group of regulars. Pub is split into two sides. One side is better for standing and the other has alot more seats.

Visited last week for Sunday lunch, not the greatest experience but it was extremely busy, so it must have just been a one off? There wasn't any beef or pork left at 2pm, so ordered the chicken roast. Yorkie was great, nice size. not the...greatest food presentation; a lot thrown onto plate. There was a lot of food though, very large portion sizes; a chicken breast and leg !! the carrots were meant to be honey roasted, but just tastes of kitchen grease. The waiter/waitress were welcoming, efficient and you could tell they were working hard!, they explained there was a 40min wait on food before I ordered so didnt mind too much. Overall, average experience. I wouldn't return for food, but it had a lovely local pub atmosphere for drinks.More

Recently moved to the area and found this place off the beaten track. It's got a charming inside, very old-school, with some nice lagers and ales on tap. They've got a large outside area which is a beauty to sit in during the summer. The...staff are kind and friendly, the food is good too. I get annoyed at pubs which get too busy, but this place is never heaving; perfect. Probably because it's not in central Croydon, a real diamond in the rough!More

Popped in for a couple on the way home after a long hot day at work. Used to be my local back in the day and nothing much has changed....still very much a locals pub with lots of first name terms around......grabbed a pint of...asahi which was just north of a fiver....the wrong side in my opinion for a local backstreet cr0 boozer.....and the table I sat at had a reserved sign for a couple of guys @ 7.30. ......ok...... That said its a quality pub with a solid reputation for food and signature Fuller's ales....if I still lived here it would still be my local...can't say anymoreMore

Our second night in Croydon, and we had a meal and a beer here. Very friendly staff, and Carlton the manager excelled when I asked for a Guinness shandy. Food was wonderful, and the environment was great. .
