Having been to Vietnam & eaten in many Vietnamese restaurants in other countries, I have to say I didn't think much of the An Nam. I actually suspect it is run by Chinese, not Vietnamese. We ordered 2 Phos at £9.00 each. They appeared in...More

My mum and I came here for lunch yesterday based on the tripadvisor reviews - we were not disappointed. We ordered a mixed starter platter, followed by a seafood soup and a cold noodle platter. Everything tasted lovely, next time I shall try their other...More

I have eaten lunch here a number of times the the combination of fresh, wonderful tasty food and friendly service has always made it an excellent place to eat. The Lamb Chop special and the Pho especially are delicious.

An Nam's manager, Cuong, is a credit to the restaurant. He dealt with our request for my nan's 100th birthday celebration for approximately 80 people professionally and with a smile all the time. He was very flexible and accommodating to my mum's requests as there...More

The good: Really good Vietnamese food The bad: The guy (manager)who "welcome"you at the entrance is REALLY a disaster, bad attitude, it happened twice, like he doesn't want more costumers if of the restaurant is half full already...too bad because the food is great. Will...More

We had the set Menu B for lunch - amazing portions and delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The service was attentive but not encroaching and the cost was unbelievably great value for cost.

Usually visit the ground floor Chinese which is always very busy. Thought we would try this place on a sunday, was really quiet when we visited so service was fast and efficient. Most dishes around the £10 mark. Food was tasty and portions generous. Can't...More

A lot has changed since new management took over. Unfortunately, the majority has been for the worse. Let's start with the positives: it is still decent Vietnamese food, the portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. Now onto the negatives. Called over...More

Came here on a Sunday for lunch, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. The food was amazing especially the pork and prawn spring rolls! Will definitely be going back to try more dishes!

Visited the supermarket and saw this Vietnamese restaurant upstairs. Not too busy, mixed clientele. Some staff a bit surly, some kind and helpful. The main guy always courteous and available. Food awesome.... Great value too.

Hi Christine, thanks for getting in touch with us. Traditional Vietnamese food is naturally gluten free, so you've come to the right place! This is because we use rice-flour, rice noodles and wraps and fish sauce in many of... More

Description
Opened in November 2006, An Nam Restaurant is Croydon's favourite spot for authentic Vietnamese food. In early 2007 owner Myoi Cao surprised locals by winning Croydon's Oriental Chef of the Year competition, beating the likes of Wagamama and Miso head chefs to the top. An Nam has since grown from strength to strength, popular among south Londoners and even far-off visitors from around the UK. About us: Chef and owner Myoi Cao has lived in south London since 1981 and worked in the restaurant trade for over three decades. Her culinary roots, however, are found halfway across the world in the southern Mekong region of Vietnam. Myoi had long-memorised her mother's recipes and over the years has expanded her repertoire with regular trips back to southern Vietnam and Cambodia. Southern Vietnam ("An Nam") is known for its abundance of seafood, fresh vegetables and herbs, and for its bold flavours - lemongrass, fish sauce, tamarind and chilli.
