We were staying in a local B&B, ready for a flight the following morning, and needed to eat. There was information on some of the local establishments in the reception area, and after having a quick look at the menu (and finding they did one of my favourites), we decided to try the Half Moon. It was a little hard... More

The Half Moon serve good, reasonably priced food - the menu is varied but not overwhelming and all the meals are cooked to order.

Warm welcome from the host. Excellent food, drinks and service. As we were out of area we chose this place following a recommendation from locals We arrived by taxi but had made no arrangements for collection at a later time Following the meal I went to pay the bill and at the same time asked if our host would kindly... Quick and efficient service and fairly good food. A very country pub with character and charm. Reasonable prices and an extensive menu! A brisk walk from Trumbles, a brilliant local bnb.

We went there 3 times in the last fortnight while in transit to and from airports and each time we were not disappointed. The menu is imaginative, the food freshly cooked and delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and it has the comfortable atmosphere of a local pub.

Met out o town friends for Sunday lunch. The staff were very attentive and the service overall was good. However the landlord needs to learn how to smile and make his customers feel welcome. He gave the impression that he had to look after customers although he didn't feel it was really his job. The starters were good. I love... More

I have had nothing but praise on my previous visits to this establishment, unfortunately on this visit it was disappointing. I ordered lasagne and when it arrived in it's individual dish it had obviously been in the oven too long as it had shrunk away from the sides and there was no discernible sauce. To be fair the place was... More

Stopped off hoping for something to eat prior to dropping my son to Gatwick for his return flight to Australia. A group of six of us. Menu fairly expensive and no snack options. Posters in bar advertising take away fish and chips and take away curries. Ni curry on menu so when my partner politely asked if curry was available... More

We ate here as we were staying at Trumbles Bed and Breakfast up the road. This is a lovely quaint pub . Lots of character with beams . Popular with the locals and lucky to get a table. Food was delicious and plentiful. Enjoyed the beer too.very reasonably priced with large portions.

I booked this for my husband's birthday and he said it was one of the best meals he has ever had! I think he was swayed by the Cornish draught pale ale, but everything else was perfect too. The moules marinieres were lovely and the lamb rump was really tender and delicious, this was on the specials menu otherwise we... More
