This is a little gem, with completely unexpected fine dining. There is a view over the interland and it is a hotel as well.

Went to Culbone on Thursday night for Rob's 50th birthday treat. Have visited before in October when we stayed at the Culbone. Had such a amazing meal. We both had the steak & had to come back again. The steak was out of this world. Will always come back here. The Culbone is up for sale & we are hoping... More

We visited the Culbone Inn for dinner at the end of June. We were recommended by our hosts where we were staying, only 10 minutes away from the Culbone. We did book and asked about bringing our puppy in advance - which they were absolutely fine with. The food was delicious and you could tell they used high quality and... More

The Culbone sits on its own a mile or two west of Porlock on the A39. Mainly a bar and restaurant, its handful of rooms are what seems to be the older part of the building. I think all of the rooms look out over the moors - a wonderful view of hills to wake up to every morning. The... More

We went on Saturday night for my daughter in laws birthday. The service and food was excellent. The couple running the place were both friendly and polite. The menu was varied with a specials board and We all had different meals and every dish was delicious. We would definitely go there again.

Great few days away.Lovely friendly family run hotel. Comfortable well appointed room but fabulous food - the best scallops ever! The walk to Culbone Church was a challenge but well worth the effort- it's gorgeous..

We stayed in the room with private terrace. The terrace was dirty with a picnic bench and nothing else. The gate was broken with a screwdriver for the handle and anyone could walk in. It would have been inhospitable to sit out there. French windows were directly in front of the bed with two curtain panels which covered the side... More

My partner and I went for dinner whilst on holiday in the area. We knew of the .restaurant's good reputation and our high expectations were fully realised. From our pre-prandial drinks to the chocolate with our post-prandial coffee everything was redolent of quality .The food was freshly prepared ,cooked to perfection and beautifully presented as well as being a joy... Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.
