Met at the door by very charming male host. Two of us ate a large meal with bread to start, main meal, wine, water, and a sweet each, followed by coffee. It was superb food and good value for money in a lovely setting. Cant think of any way it could have been better!

My son and daughter in law treated me to an evening meal on mothers day. It was OK but some of it had been reheated. Overpriced. and not the best. Service was very good .

Our party of eleven, five children and six adults, were looked after very well. Attentive service without being pushy, very good food and drink and all in superb surroundings.

My family and I went to the Mill at Rode on Saturday the 15th April. We were celebrating my sons birthday. The Mill is a beautiful pub, lovely surroundings and right on the river. We were greeted by friendly staff and a varied menu, choice of cider, ales and wines. We are all fans of steak so that was an... More

Dined here last evening after visiting our local family. Not visited this place for some years. Used to love it here. The amazing seafood options, especially the mussel starter and always lovely staff and ambience. Wow is all I can say. Do not normally leave reviews but what awful changes. A very rude dark haired manager that seemed clueless and... More

We had a very disappointing lunch at the Mill. I've been here a couple of times in recent years, when visiting my elderly mother, who lives close by and likes coming here. It's a beautiful setting and nice looking restaurant. In the past we've enjoyed our meals and we were looking forward to our usual good experience. My sons enjoyed... More

We returned for dinner after being informed that there was a lovely new management couple that had recently taken over and a new menu was to start for the summer. We had such a lovely experience the last time we came for lunch, the staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel very special valid customers. Food was... More

Description
The Mill at Rode is a quintessential English inn, set on a stunning riverside site, surrounded by beautiful gardens and with a fabulous deck area overlooking the water.
This former woollen mill is one of the few surviving that once put Rode on the map as a key trading centre and market town on the Somerset and Wiltshire border. The Mill was part of a consortium that won a competition to make a dress for Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III, and invented a dye colour Royal Blue..

The Mill is now part of the Butcombe Brewery group of pubs and through sensitive restoration still connects with its industrial past, including the historic waterwheel. The pub has recently undergone a big refurbishment and the result is a carefully crafted modern, contemporary environment that is ideal for meeting friends, enjoying family time, or celebrating major events, with private dining facilities for up to 60 guests.

Renowned for its great fresh locally sourced food and convivial atmosphere, the Mill at Rode is a perfect location for all occasions. There is plenty of parking and outside the chance to try your hand at some typical English pub games such as Giant Jenga and croquet so it is ideal for enjoying the lovely natural setting on the River Frome.

Close to Bath, the Mill is a mecca for locals and visitors alike who are looking for a relaxing time. The Mill chefs pride themselves on using only the best ingredients, with as many as possible being supplied locally. On the menu are some classic British dishes such as sausage and mash with onion gravy to hearty international favourites such as dry rubbed pork ribs. And of course there is a fantastic selection of ales from Butcombe Brewery and a wide range of wines to suit all tastes and palates.
