Had a great lunch at Jack Mytton and the ales were very good. The food is spot on. Staff were courteous and friendly. Plenty of space to park our car. Charming location alongside the canal.

Top end pub menu, stylishn surroundings, excellent service, well kept choice of real ale. In short better than your average pub by some margin although my chicken was slightly overcooked and the chorizo stuffing killed the subtle white wine sauce,Rest of the food had by three of us was excellent

Visited here on the 24th with my misses and daughter. Took a chance on this place as never heard much about it. Seen its Facebook page pop up recently on my news feed and the menu looked good so that's why we went. From our experience the food was great. I had calamari to start. Was told it was fresh not... Waited 30 mins for our drinks, 45 for the food. In all fairness the food was very good. After we had finished the same waitress that took our drinks order asked if we wanted to see the desert menu, I should of guessed, - after a long wait and growing 3 inches of stubble on my chin- we were still... We have two bars one inside and the outdoor bar in the grounds. You will wait longer on hot and busy days for service outside as I believe was your case - everybody knows that at any popular Pub at busy times, especially when , as is the case here, there are large grounds of over an acre for our... During 11.07.16 to 18.07.16 five of us enjoyed a narrow boating holiday on the Llangollen Canal. One of our party was unable to walk very far so it was important to find eateries fairly close to the canal. On Saturday 16.07.16 we decided to stop overnight directly outside the Jack Mytton Inn and booked in for evening meal. The location... More

You highlight an important issue for us– what to do when a minority conduct themselves in a way that spoils the experience for other diners and drinkers. The personal safety of our diners and drinkers comes first – hand in hand with that comes their enjoyment. We are a Public House and we welcome large groups – most large groups... More

We tried to book a table foe two at 7.30 but were told 8 pm was only availability. We arrived at 7.30 for drinks, placed our order for Hunter chicken with chunky chips and Rib eye rare to n Medium with addition of onion rings. We were called to our table at 8.45 .... I republish our pre - emptive complaint that I immediately lodged with Trip Advisor about your behaviour: "I have fallen yet again to a blackmail threat of going to TripAdvisor by a couple who did their damnedest to extract free meals or heavy discount from us. A great location by the canal. A very attractive pub with very nice decor. A great choice of beers and delicious wine. The staff were very personable and knowledgeable. The food was very good and tasty. However, I have some issue with having to pay for sides. For example, the choice of sides with the excellent Baby Rack were half... More

Hello Ruscombe Thank you for your feedback. Your comments about pricing caught our attention and thank you for making the point in such a positive spirit. Your comments are especially noteworthy for us as this is a new menu we have introduced this week and it would be a shame if the pricing of sides deterred diners. We have decided... More

I visited Jack Mytton as a party of 19 and we were received very well. The waiters/waitresses were exceptionally polite. We were quite a demanding party and the staff met all our needs. The food was great although no veg was served unless you ordered it separately as a side. The owner himself came to us to introduce himself and... More

Thank you for taking the time to let us know what is always good to hear - Great Food and that all your needs were met. Dishes with Vegetables inclusive vary - for example our Sunday Roast Lunches will have up to Five Vegetable sides included in the price. We have found diners tend to prefer to choose their sides... Moored up here at The PUBLIC moorings they are not private despite what they say as nobody owns the towpath, we both had Roast beef, the beef was overcooked (not pink) Its a pity the cow had to be killed again by the chef, we told the waitress but were told that maybe ours had been reheated too much, we... I wish to respectfully correct two of your comments which are false and misleading. You are correct to say the footpath by the canal is public. Our Canal Side signage relates to our lay-by for boats only and boaters’ rights to tie up alongside our frontage in the lay-by. We own the mooring rights in our layby which was privately... More
