Nice staff, interesting old pub. Beer is hit or miss. Best to drink what the locals are drinking. Food lets the place down. Seems to depend on who is on duty since sometimes it's bearable, sometimes inedible. It's the kind of food that gets British food a bad name; stewed, soggy, flavorless. It's next door to where my Mum lives,... More

We eat regularly in the Lamb and are always assured of a tasty meal and warm welcome. I particularly love the Sunday roasts. A real treat for me. Desserts are gorgeous if you still have room for one.

Pub grub but at the weaker end. Eating area dark, service ok. Beer average to poor. Unpleasant garden

A good menu with a fair variety at reasonable prices with some seeming to be good value and others a bit pricey for dish. However that is just a comparison with other places I have been. Staff very nice and service was perfect without being too pushy or slow. We had no complaints about the food, but reading some of... More

A quick lunch following a visit to the Wessex Flour mill next door for lunch was not disappointing. The pub is deceptive from the outside but has a nice open plan courtyard effect to the central dining area. The beams are covered in writings, some interesting, others not so. This is a family run business with a friendly warm feel... More

We booked a table as it was Easter Sunday - lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good service, excellent menu and always a good selection of specials on the board ... we will return. Thank you very much :-)

It's a really pleasant venue, and the food is plentiful and reasonably priced. Service was efficient and prompt.

Fairly regular visitors here. Food is always cooked well and served hot. Special mention for Jo as she is so attentive. Only place in wantage that really caters for wheelchair users especially when needing to use the facilities. Dont need ramps to get into the premises and you can actually get to the bar. Only issue could be getting into... More

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and soon warmed up from the chilly wind outside. The food was pleasant if a bit expensive (£9.95 for vegetarian lasagne and southern fried chicken). Was a surprise that the lasagne only came with salad and no chips or garlic bread, but to be fair these were not... More
