We booked an early table as we were dining with our children and wanted to be home at a reasonable time. We placed our order at 6.10pm and did not get our meals until 7pm! Other diners who had ordered after us were served before us. When the food arrived, the meat was overcooked in mine and my husband's dishes.... More

I visited the unicorns head on Sunday evening, this is my third visit over the past few years! Myself & six other family members had their Sunday carvery option. It was amazing, we had brilliant portion sizes; the meats, vegetables, potatoes & Yorkshire puds were completely home made, it was just as good as my grandmas homemade Sunday dinner (which... More

Early Evening Meal, this pub has an excellent menu and genuine pizza oven, two of us opted for pizzas which were huge and wonderfully tasty with lovely crisp bases. My Mum had hand beer battered fish and chips which again was huge and she said very nice and my husband had the steak and ale pie which he thoroughly enjoyed,... More

Five of us went for a midweek quick meal, an hour and a quarter later we were served uncooked pizza on wobbly wooden boards and the worst excuse for a salad I have ever seen. It wasn't busy inside but there were a few people outside so maybe they were all eating but no one said we would be in... More

I haven't eaten here for some while but did so this week. The lamb was cooked very well (med rare for me) and the veg was varied with great texture and colour. Well worth a visit.

I don't guess that Wednesday night is usually that busy at the Unicorns Head, so by 9:30pm the landlord can be forgiven for settling down with a glass of wine talking to the regulars. When 20 unexpected visitors suddenly arrive in their way back from an evening at Langar Karting, things can go one of two ways. Mercifully, the bar... More

Lovely food, sat outside in the sunshine. Great location. And can go for a nice walk up the canal before or after visiting.

We fancied going out for local lunch and have not been to the Unicorns Head before. The restaurant has a rustic appearance with dark ceiling beams and large open fire, It was a quite Friday lunchtime so not many staff on duty. We had to wait while for our food but it was worth it, we weren't in a hurry.... More

Sunday table booked fro 1.30pm after asking several times we where shown to our table at 2.15pm. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the menu. We had booked a high chair and we where offered cushions for the 19 month old child. This was not at all suitable and they did found us a high chair from storage.... More
