A very old pub very local and fitting with seashouses. We like it because not too modern or busy but dog friendly

Relatively tucked away but still very central. Not in the least touristy but a good old fashioned, no frills pub. It doesn't have a ton of memorabilia hanging off the walls but it has good beer and when we were there were a handful of friendly happy punters enjoying it and a bit of a natter. Recommended (as too is... More

The Black Swan is a bit away from the centre of Seahouses, in a road off of the southern end of the harbour. It is a traditional pub, although it only seems to serve one real ale. The bar-man was friendly, but the pub was gloomy (little natural light). A number of locals were in the bar when we were... More

We visited the Black Swan on the Wednesday evening, my husband had the steak and ale pie, I had scampi and chips and it was lovely, the young lady serving couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend a visit, if you have a dog, they are only allowed in the bar and not the restaurant.

Had a couple of beers here on Saturday afternoon, chatted to some guys who were hiding from their wifes, its a nice pub which is just enough off the beaten path to feel real without being rough or unwelcoming. Some of the other places feel a little too touristy if you know what I mean.

The landlord of this pub was so miserable he seemed to cast his spell over the few customers in this establishment. Toilets stunk but the only real ale on wa good. Went to the Bamburgh Castle Inn yards away and it was so much more welcoming. Wouldn't recommend. 👎

Stopped for a quick drink after walking around Seahouses. I see what the last person said about the smell. Seemed like an stale cigarette smoke smell. Looked clean enough but only one real ale on so only stopped far a half. Very expensive! 4.00 for half of ale and half lime and soda. Cant recommend.

we are sorry you don't seem very happy about your visit to the black swan inn. I think the smell of stale ciggy smoke may well have been coming from a stale ciggy smoker if this was the case we should try to discourage stale smokers from coming into the pub just to make you happy. as to the price...
