Nice friendly reception. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Food was pleasant with plenty of beef on the main course. Only criticism would be roast potatoes not done enough for me . Would definitely return.

Called for tea with friends. First time we had been since the refurbishment. The Inn looks lovely - very clean and welcoming. We weren't as impressed with the food. What's happened to proper chips? Ours looked like fried up left over potatoes and were the colour of mud. The area famous for fish and chips - look at them again.... More

Went mid week for lunch. Extensive pub menu, many dishes you can order a smaller portion, ideal if you have a smaller appetite. Quite busy although only 12.30pm. Ordered food and drinks at the bar. Scampi, chips small portion for me. Option of peas and salad with this dish which I declined. When my meal came, it was quite substantial... More

We visited after a trip to Warkworth. I opted for the Shepherds Pie on the special board and my husband got the ham salad. The portions are huge, vegetables lovely and fresh and the ham on the salad was thick slices of home cooked gammon. This place is well worth a visit. I've never had a bad meal yet.

Went north with bf as met his lovely mum. His mum took us there.. I had duck from special menu confit duck Bon Bon with sweet soy mushroom and egg noodle. The food is lovely but I think it would be better have duck breast rather Bon Bon as feel less duck . Enjoyed meal there!

Booked up for a Christmas meal with family. Table for 7 a bit cramped and the chairs a tad small. Starter of chicken terrine was freezing cold and the small piece of toast was soft as it had all been kept plated in the fridge. Main was turkey with trimmings. Turkey had little taste, could have been processed due to... More

Great menu choice. Large portions. High quality food.Friendly service. Pub has recently been reburbished and it is very smart. I had king prawns with sea trout on creamy garlic orzo. My husband had slow cooked belly pork with honey mustard sauce. Both meals were superb.

7 of us went for lunch today. Recently been refurbished to a very high standard, lovely log fires at either end of the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Brilliant menu, lots of choices. One lady had the belly pork, 3 had the lamb roast dinner, vegetarian option for another and 2 of us had the steak pie. Pie was... More
