Ate here on a Friday night recently and had the steak and ale pie. Like other reviews have stated, the gravy was very runny and in my pie there wasn’t much in the way of steak. Pity as the service was quick and friendly, and...More

We had Sunday lunch a week ago. I've never had such a perfect Sunday meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and the huge thick slices of meat just melted on your mouth. Can't wait to go back.

First night of our holiday and came here on a recommendation. Dog friendly, plenty of space between tables and good pub grub. Nothing at all to dislike but nothing exceptional either. Friendly staff who created a welcoming atmosphere.

A lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. We called by chance and found the menu was more than adequate. The food we orders was very good indeed. In fact I am sure it was the best chicken breast in leek sauce that I have ever eaten....More

Chance visit (passing trade), greeted welcomed with enthusiasm , offered option of restaurant dining or in the bar area. Small menu range understandable for location but a little old fashioned. Decor great and clean throughout , but as with many catering outlets on a budget...More

Sorely disappointed by the ‘pie’, a stew in a bowl with a thin, burned shortcrust lid. Raised this when the table was cleared (nobody bothered to check during the meal) and got a rather affronted harrumph. Well, sorry the made-to-order ‘pie’ was burned, I’ll shut...More
