The restaurant is in an elevated position with panoramic views over the Holy Island with a nice outside terrace for warmer weather. There is a good range of food on offer and the portions tend to be large and inexpensive. It is popular for lunch and the adjacent bar does meals as special theme evenings which are good as well.

Tender and tasty Galloway beef served with standard veg and Yorkshire pud in a cosy barn with spectacular views towards Holy Island.

Called in for coffee and soup before going across to the Island. A TV screen shows feed of the causeway so you can watch the tide come in or go out whilst relaxing in the warmth

My husband and I visited last Monday lunch time and were hugely disappointed with our food. My soup was passable but relied on the pepper for flavour. My husband had "lasagne". Oh dear I can't believe this was called lasagne! The first portion was sent back as it was cold in the middle. Another portion came and was piping hot... More

Lovely place never had anything mediocre or below here! The view is also lovely and the staff are friendly and very efficient. We popped out on a whim for late lunch as they close much later than most. We decided we were less hungry than usual so shared a large seafood platter which was excellent with lovely bread too. Smoked... More

If a place is full on a wet lunchtime in November it must be good. And yes it is- crisp fishy fishcakes come with chilli dip but if like me you are allergic to chilli you can have mayo. We fell pray to the Border Tart so delicious & tooth curling sweet. Yum. Good coffee, what more can you ask.... More

Great for coffee or lunch, does evening meals with a bar. The lunch menu is extensive with everything from snacks and sandwiches to mains. The fish taster plate which i have had twice now is terrific value for... More

Situated just before the causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (always check the TIDE TIMETABLES) this is a good place to stop & have a meal & enjoy the magnificent view towards the Island. As usual while visiting Lindisfarne, we had a couple of meals at The Barn. We enjoyed our lunch which was served promptly & the staff... More
