We stayed here for 4 nights on a short break. The welcome was very friendly and throughout the whole stay the staff were friendly, helpful, cheerful and efficient. Food very good with generous portions and a good choice. They offered an early diners menu before 7pm and this was extremely good value. Our room was very clean, nice furnished and... More

Great food and staff. All of us enjoyed our meal. Carvery next time though as the smell was immense. Will come back.

Our servers at the table as well as... More

The hotel catered well for our group of 20+ diners and the food was all served on time and we were given a private room too. The food was reasonable, though nothing special and the desserts in particular didn't impress. Bar prices were expensive and the new owner who took our payments didn't seem to want to engage with his... More

Having trudged round Alnwick at tea time looking unsuccessfully for somewhere nice to eat we got back in the car and noticed this place on our way out of the town. The carvery, served from 5.30 daily I think, was excellent. All fresh and cooked to perfection. Lovely large dining area, child friendly and pleasant staff.

Very average hotel now run by the Marston Brewery company.. Seems to be run using minimum staff numbers and the positioning of the check in desk isolated and unmanned can lead to delays on arrival.. An old fashioned hand bell on counter could easily be replaced with modern equivalent which would more efficiently alert staff lurking elsewhere on the premises.... More

Nice place to enjoy a few beers and a meal. The staff were very welcoming , and although we had not booked found us a table in a very short time. The food was very enjoyable . I had the steak and her indoors had the salmon , that with a few pints and a G&T made for a very... More
