Quite busy because of the visitors to the castle. The staff were very pleasant. We had hunters chicken and a Sunday roast. It was not Sunday, but it appears they serve that every day. It was very tasty and you could have as much as you wanted.

We came here Easter weekend 2016 after reading their online menu. The websites we saw described this pub as welcoming, cosy, great selection of beers and a good menu. Well, the one lady serving behind the bar was friendly, but rushed off her feet, the owner was apparently serving at the carvery and too busy to help out. The menu... More

Not a very pleasant experience. The oldest pub in Alnwick but has a wide screen TV , gaming machine and musak . Where is the atmosphere?

I adore the queens it's been a regular drinking and eating place of mine for many years. I love the fact that above the bar they have a sign enter as strangers leave as friends. And that says it all

Popped in for a couple of drinks with friends before a meal. Outside looks disappointing and nothing like picture on trip advisor, interior sadly lacking atmosphere and doesn't reflect it being the oldest pub in Alnwick. Reasonably priced though and were served quickly enough and staff pleasant enough.

My wife and I dropped in for a quick pub lunch - the barmaid was quick to take the order and deliver drinks. The food took over 45 mins to get to us and the pies content was fine, the pastry was cold and burnt, the mash luke warm. It was slow and fairly grotty.Complaining did solicit an apology but.............!... More
