We happened on this restaurant by chance and were glad we did. The food was excellent and the service was prompt. The staff were friendly and the meal was excellent value for money. We will certainly be using again when we are next in Alnwick.

Visited early July on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised by the menu. The specials were very authentic sounding and not just your typical Italian eatery with the beef in red white, chicken in white wine rubbish. Had a lovely starter of asparagus confit and a main of Italian sausage in a spicy sauce. It was a very hot day... More

This is a little gem of a place. The food is excellent. Please check the specials, if the lamb I had was anything to go by, then you'll be in for a treat. The wine list is good and well-priced, and a really good selection by the glass. BE WARNED - its a tiny place and clearly popular, it gets... More

This is definitely a cafe not a restaurant - dour decor and very close tables packed in. However, the staff are very friendly, the food good and the service OK. It is opposite the Playhouse so handy for a pre-show meal if you can get in. NB they close for 2 weeks in the summer so all staff can take... More

We wanted a quick pizza before going to the theatre opposite, but allowed plenty of time in view of reviewers comments about it being busy. We actually got a table (last one) at 6pm on a Wednesday but after that people were having to wait. However, once we were seated there was quite a long wait for our order to... More

Had to wait for a table but the waitress offered to collect us from the pub next door if we didn't mind waiting. The waitress staff were both lovely, very helpful, cheerful and professional. Food was fantastic.

We've visited before and due to the outstanding standard of food we decided to go for a quick lunch one Thursday, the lady who served us was very blunt and made too many assumptions, getting both our drinks and food mixed up because she didn't ask, she was then very rude when we swapped our meals between us with no... Good Italian food at good prices. You can't book so be prepared to wait if they're busy, especially if there's an event on at the playhouse. Generous portions, closed Sundays.

We visited here on a Saturday evening, it was quite busy and we had to wait for a table. Our wait was quite long and I got the impression that we were somewhat forgotten about. When we were seated we again had to wait to have our order taken, it seemed that only one server could take orders which slowed... More

We arrived without booking with 2 hungry kids. They didn't have a table for us but took our number and within 40 minutes they called to say a table was ready for us. The choice on the menu was excellent and kids under 10 can have any pizza or pasta, a scoop of ice cream and a juice for £5.... More
