Well i was passing on the A1 again and found my car steering me to the Stanwick (only the 3rd time) had a lovely pint and fab food as usual with really nice, helpful staff. Nothing is too much bother, and did i mention the food was good - if you are anywhere near here, call in, you will not... More

So nice for Sunday lunch once again which was very good. Disappointed to see lamb was no longer available for the main course. Very good choice of locally brewed ale.

Excellent choice of ales with usually one from Mithril brewery (which is in the village), two from Daleside and another called Rivet Catcher - sampled them all and all were in excellent condition. Food here is also very good - in particular the home made pie and home made fish & chips - they do take out F&C on a... More

While cycling in this beautiful area, perhaps distracted by the cricket on the green, we came upon this magnificent Inn. Though primarily just thirsty, the landlady's warm welcome and the excellence of Mithril Ales "A 66", brewed in the village, drew us towards her enticing menu. Our small snack choice of sausage baguette turned out to be a feast; fresh... More

A party of 8 stayed in the village for the weekend. We arrived on Friday and had a bar snack and would recommend the sasuage roll and most importantly serve real ale brewed in the village. We had to book an evening meal due to the popularity from the locals and we're not disappointed. We all had at least a... More

Visited the pub again on a business trip up north, made a detour because i really love this place, the food, staff, service are all top notch. Either i need to move here or move the pub nearer to me, either way lovely place to spend some time.

Had such a fabulous meal here and we were so well looked after and made so welcome that we came back 3 nights in a row for our dinner. Really really friendly, excellent service even when busy and the food was awesome. Everything was cooked to perfection and the menu offered delicious options. We sat in the pub rather than... More

The Stanwick Inn is our favourite place for Sunday lunch. Well worth the journey from Darlington for the Yorkshire puddings and onion gravy alone. Add to that a perfectly kept pint of Daleside Bitter and friendly staff who make us feel very welcome and it is difficult to think of a better place to eat. The location on the village... More
