Visited Betty's over many years. On the last three occasions our visit has been marred by slow and poor service. Today whilst the food was nice we waited a very long time for our meals such that our drinks were nearly finished, afterwards our cakes didn't arrive together. We didn't feel 'looked after' & the price didn't reflect the experience... More

Came here for a special lunch with some family and thoroughly enjoying it, we were lucky not to have to wait at all (this can be a pain a lot of times) The staff were nice and so was the food.

Having been to Betty's in York and also in Harrogate we know the standards that make their cafes special. On finding a Betty's in Northallerton we couldn't resist going in for tea and a snack. They didn't let us down. The same courtesy and the same high quality in a lovely building. As usual the tea came with the extra... More

A visit to Northallerton wouldn't be the same without a bit of the Betty's experience. And it is an experience. If you just want tea/coffee and a snack you could just as easily go to half a dozen or more places in town and save a few pounds (from your wallet or purse at least). I visited on a Sunday... More

Two of our friends were marrying on Saturday so we had booked into Betty's for breakfast at 9. Superb service and lovely atmosphere were the perfect setting for full English breakfast , with excellent blended teas and assorted goodies. Perfect ...apart from being rather crowded around 2 circular tables pulled together leaving not much room to shuffle round. Had we... More

On 10 Augus t2016 it was my spouse and my 30th Anniversary - so we decided to have a celebration lunch and visit the Betty's in Northallerton instead of our usual Betty's on York. We arrived at around 13:30 and waited in line for a table for about 10 minutes. When our turn to be seated we noted a number... More

Having received a voucher for Betty’s as a thank you gift, we really had no excuse not to visit this famous café in the heart of Northallerton – although do you every really need an excuse to eat here? Being fairly early and having to pop into work later that day we decided to ‘do brunch’ rather than have one... More

After a short wait we were met at the door and taken to our seats by a very friendly young lady who would have looked perfectly at home in a Victorian Tea Room. Good choice of food a little more expensive than some places we have eaten but the quality was excellent. Blue Mountain coffee in an individual cafetiere with... More

We went for afternoon tea midweek for a birthday meal. We have visited often many years ago in Ilkley, York and Harrogate. The service was fine, but the food was too ordinary for the prices charged. The meringue especially was uninviting, small and just not special. We mentioned this and we're given a free cake when we left, but no... More
