Betty's is always a must when taking a trip to Northallerton; normally prefer to visit through the week or on a Sunday as less queuing time; but believe me the que is worth it. The ambience, service and food quality is quintessentially English. As well...More

We had a very pleasant light lunch in Betty’s Northallerton. The service was wonderful, food very good, and the atmosphere genteel as usual.

Excellent meal in calm and traditional surroundings. This was our second visit but just as good as the first. Silver teapot lovely crockery, white tablecloth, all very pleasant. Enjoyed a great omelette and a quiche salad. Really good. Will be back.

We had an enjoyable lunch of sandwiches and similar at Betty's, the sandwiches were fine, not historic you understand but fine. For the price, a tad disappointing rather trading on their reputation, I think. The service though, was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient.

Every now and then we treat ourselves to Betty's as it's a bit pricey for us to do all the time! Had cakes and coffee/tea in these wonderful surroundings, standard of food and service is superb, short wait to be seated but worth it. Recommended.

My husband and I popped in to have a coffee, but having spied the cake trolley, decided to treat ourselves to something to eat, too. He had the Engadine Torte and I had the Lemon Curd Torte; both were delicious. Our only disappointment was that...More
