We were visiting the area and came across The Star, we received a friendly welcome from the staff. Ordered our dinner which were all very good size portions and tasted lovely. Next time we visit we will definitely pop in again. Would definitely recommend this...pub.More

Just had meal and drinks at The Star. Wow! My partner says it’s impossible to find a decent pint of Guinness at a seaside pub. The star definitely changed his mind…perfect pint! All our meals were superb. Hot, huge portions, freshly cooked food. Will definitely...be returningMore

We booked a table which was easy enough over the phone. We arrived and to be honest, we were going to carry on driving. It really does not look appealing from the outside at all. Like some council estate beer dive. However we decided to...go in and check it out and try it. The food was ‘ok’. We won’t be returning.More

Meeting up at noon with 7 friends, 1 a local resident and wanting to be outside he thought The Star would be ideal. Barman not really interested and we felt as if he would be happier if we weren't there. Knew they didn't do food...till 4pm but in some cases other pubs have said get some cold food elsewhere and eat it here. We suggested pork pies from local butcher but barman said no. Not allowed. Had an expensive £4.10 beer and left, went to The Station down the road. Nice beer garden, friendly welcome and good food on offer. Cheaper beer. The Star lost 2 rounds of drinks and we won't be going again. Sorry. I was in the licensed trade 35 years ago, wouldn't have happened in my pub.More

Visiting from Scotland with 3 adults and 2 children. All the meals were amazing. Tasted fresh and huge portions. Sat in the back bit of the bar and were asked what we would like to drink straight away. Fast service and very friendly staff. Not...to long of a wait for our food. The menu was great, something to suit everyone. Would recommend 100%More

The staff here are second to none....food fantastic, great selection of ale. We have a nut allergy child and every member of staff could not do enough ....you should be applauded for your effort and attitude and I would without doubt come and eat with...you again....More

Clean, spacious, good space both inside and outside. The garden at the back is lovely. Staff friendly and helpful, and able to clearly inform what is gluten free on their dinner menu, a winner for me! Nice meal, good selection of food, and good beer...selection if wanted.More

Yo be honest we always visit The Star when we are in Filey. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean. We sit at our favourite table outside come rain or shine with our dogs and watch the world go by.

A lovely place with a great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and professional and the place is always clean and inviting. A great venue to sit and have food/drink after a walk along the beach.

I’m an ex chef and sometimes struggle to find good fish dishes, not the case in the star , Sam the chef has mastered the Lobster crab and prawn risotto it was absolutely fabulous tasted so good ! My husband had the Sea-bass which was...cooked to perfection , nothing but praise for the food we had ! The staff in the star are also all very friendly and customer service was excellent I would recommend the Sauvignon Blanc to go with the fish not your usual cheap pub wine ! Look forward to going back soon ,More

Had one Meal here. It was ok. Nothing more. it was a quite night and not busy. The young men serving did not have enough knowledge to treat customers as would be expected. Apart from the usual "is every thing ok" any follow up just...not there. Just did not have a welcoming feeling to the place.More
