The service and food were superb. Great lamb and a good selection of food for the children. The food was also quick in coming

When we rate anywhere, we tend to judge both food and ambiance. Have to say the food is good. They obviously employ a great chef and have a good simple menu backed up by specials board which is always a bonus. We did struggle with...More

We have dined here before and decided to eat here again whilst visiting the area this year. Don't be put off by the dated decor and laid-back attitude of the bar staff. The food is really good and well worth waiting for. The staff are...More

Good food & drink at reasonable prices and friendly staff / locals. Ideal location if stopping at the Colman's camp site or B&B.

Visited whilst holidaying in village. Proper old pub, good beer brilliant food and good funny banter with the locals. We popped in on Wednesday afternoon to check it out and enjoyed a pint, advised to book early for weekend, and glad we did. Friday night...More

This little gem lived up to it's reputation. The lamb was tender and beautifully flavoured. Jus was fab. The side portion of chips, hot fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Vegetables were tasty. All was piping hot which is rare these days...More

They have a decent selection of Ales, the menu is quite varied, and the food very good. It is also a bit of a locals pub, so there is a good atmosphere.

Description
The George and Dragon Inn is a timeless Victorian gastro pub nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park complete with a crackling log fire, traditional ales on tap, a patio with views of Pen Hill and rustic walls decorated with framed sketches. We couldn't think of a cosier place to settle in with a bottle of red than the George and Dragon Inn's down-to-earth dining room, and apparently we're not the only ones. With one AA Rosette under its belt, the restaurant is a popular spot for Sunday roasts, afternoon tea and hearty evening meals, and the modern British menu includes signature dishes such as the roast Nidderdale chicken breast served with smoked applewood risotto.
