If my hubby wants to treat me, then he takes me here for a meal, we have also been as a party of 16. Food is always excellent, choice of starter main and dessert... from about four/six options for each. Sit in lounge area first, for drinks and complimentary nibbles, usually something a little different, for example a small cup... More

Before booking this accommodation, we had already reserved a table elsewhere for dinner so didn't eat here. However, our room was of a good standard and was spotlessly clean and well-prepared. The super-king bed was superb. Quite simply one of the most comfortable I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in and by far the best night's sleep I've had... More

Paid a visit to this restaurant earlier this week, whilst staying in Woodhall Spa for a few days. We went there for dinner and found it to be a most enjoyable experience. The food and service were both excellent and the attention to detail was exceptional.

Felt spoilt from start to finish with every mouthful something to savour. Very comfortable anti room where you peruse the menu and have bite size appetisers. I wanted to order a slight modification and this was dealt with with flair rather than annoyance as can sometimes be the case. Taken to our table and then a surprise pre starter which... More

As part of our gastro-year this was some of the best food we have tasted. The flavours were delicious; the presentation excellent. We have been fortunate enough to eat in some of Europe's best restaurants. The originality shown in Magpies is right up there. An excellent wine list just adds to the pleasure. I would recommend this to anyone.

We recently travelled to Lincoln for a hen do and booked the Magpie's for a vintage tea party. There was 20 in our party and we all was aware of a smart dress code so expected a very high end establishment and service. Magpies it's self is beautifully decorated and quant. When we arrived we sat in a lounge area... More

A mixed bag really, our party enjoyed the food that we had however the place wasn't for me. £48 for a choice from a set meal selection was ok not large portions but enough. Tasty entrees and wines but if I'm spending £70 per person on a night out I want to enjoy the experience. I just felt uncomfortable and... More

I'm sorry to say that I was truly surprised that the food was so poor. The menu seemed dated on first perusal and my concern was validated when the scallop and crab starter arrived. The scallops was small and though cooked ok did not taste fresh. The spaghetti was so over cooked and the crab I left. Lamb was two... More
