Rang at 6.00pm and got booked in for 6.45pm on the balcony - lovely position overlooking the river. From making the phone to leaving the restayrant all interactions with the staff were warm, professional and friendly. Food arrived quickly and my scallops were superb, if a little cold - as if there'd been a bit of a delay between them... More

Excellent value for the beat The Clock Menu, Been twice in the last couple of weeks with a group from work. Delicious , well cooked and well presented food on both occasions. Very happy to cater for the dairy free member of the group and good alternatives offered with no fuss. Excellent service.

I always make a visit to Shakesby's a priority on my visits to the Horncastle area. The staff are first class and even though I probably only visit once or twice a year actually remember me. The food is excellent, cooked to perfection and nicely presented on hot plates where required. Shakesby's is a must visit for anyone in the... More

My wife and I had not been to Shakesby's for a couple of years and on our way into town we decided to try their early Beat the Clock special. We managed to get a table on the riverside balcony and had two excellent courses for under a tenner. Outstanding value, great friendly service and smashing food.

My wife and I arrived late in the evening with no reservation but the staff worked to fit us in. The staff were friendly and well informed and well able to accommodate the need for a gluten free meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal.

You get what you pay for fits here very well. The restaurant is definitely not cheap for the area but the food and service are excellent. My wife had the beef shoulder and said it was one one of the best meals she had eaten in a long time. I had lamb shank and it too was excellent - with... More

We are lucky enough to have this restaurant in our neibourhood. We allways have a great meal, good service. We have had quite a few'special occasion' meals at Shakesbys always brilliant. Totally recommend it. They also do early bird specials until 6.30. Very good value.
