We visit family in the North West about once or twice a year, so was looking to book somewhere around Rawtenstall ish. The reviews at the popular restaurants in the area were poor, so we went for Anar Kali after reading the reviews. Booking was...online and simple, with a confirmation email being sent too. Parking is easy and plentiful next to the restaurant too. On arrival we were greeted at the door and taken to our table. The place was really busy, but they had a good number of staff members there. Throughout the evening we were served by 4/5 different members of staff, which can cause issues usually, but AK have it running so smoothly. Poppadom trays were varied, with 6 different chunteys/dips! All meals were spot on, really creamy and tasty. My wife ordered a Mojito (as you do in an Indian), but they didn't have the ingredients, so had a Prosecco instead. Pricing was acceptable, commensurate with the quality of the food/service. We won't hesitate to go again the next time we are in the area.More

Food was excellent, spoilt by a party of men making sure everybody heard them, I appreciate people are entitled to have a good time, but the staff should of seated two to three people away from them, there is a seperate part they should of...been in, last time we went people were eating in there, at a few points we couldn't even hear each other speak, just had a quiet word with the staff but they didn't seem concerned, pity because it is a really good restaurant.More

I booked anar kali for my mums 60th birthday, 22 of us attended and 22 of us left happy and impressed. The staff were very friendly and the service was brilliant from start to finish. Celebrated our wedding anniversary here last night. Fabulous food, ambiance and service as always. We could have taken advantage of a £10 off offer but didn't as we felt what we received was worth every penny. Given complimentary drinks at the end of the evening...and a lovely gesture of a bottle of wine to take home. Highly recommend this restaurant.More

This was only the second time we'd have dined here. Being Easter, it was busy naturally, the staff were attentive and polite and even one member got the giggles taking our order (questionable) yet a very friendly young man. Service appeared slow especially taking orders...for drinks (we had to wait half an hour and then reorder again!) Now, my issue is, please don't laugh but where we were seated was great but the pretty lights wasn't so...every time time a member of our party stood up he constantly whacked his head on these, Funny yes to our party but I'd refuse to sit there again. My main dish could be improved regarding appearance. The lights looked prettier, yet it still had the taste just not appealing to look at. I will leave it at that. Please sort those low hanging lights.More

Beautiful restaurant lovely ambience but they sat us on a dull table next to conservatory it was very very cold ! We asked to be moved they put is in a Booth near the kitchen equally as cold .and very hustle bustle .... We waited...25 mins for our second course and were told it was because the chef was fasting ? The food was tasty We had the thali sharing dishes but literally one pompadom each and one very small nan for the price we paid I think an extra of each would have been more acceptable I would have loved to dipped up the sauces of the dishes with another nan but i didnt order an xtra one as the staff seemed a little flustered and somewhat distracted ....we came on a reccomendation from a local resident and could see the attraction such a beautiful setting ! If they turn the heating up and gave us one of there lovely tables with the Chandaliers over and a couple of extra pompadoms (for what they cost ) we would come back but we ended up with the two worse tables in the house:-( This is not a bad review just wanted to share our experience .....More

Booked for Christmas day for 2 couples. Booked through the website and Facebook messaged the pre order. Everything was spot on, the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. The food was delicious! Heard good things about this place and the rumors were true! It was...a really lovely atmosphere too, they had a number of settings so tables weren't piled in next to each other, it was really well planned.More

This was our first Indian Christmas Dinner, what an absolutely enjoyable afternoon. The setting was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the staff were pleasant and extremely attentive...what more could you ask for. We'll definitely be going back and may be even book for next...Christmas.More

Food ordered online, it was late, cold and had an item missing. We phoned the restaurant who apologised but said its Xmas eve can we wait 1.5hrs or mention the missing item next time 🙈 we won't be going again, which is a shame because...its our local Indian restaurant. The staff member I spoke to online was rude ad sarcastic, clearly they don't care. Don't go to this restaurant if you want to treated with respect and like hot food 🙈More

Just returned from our annual festive visit to Anar Khali for Christmas Day. We have been every 25th December for nearly 10 years. Excellent food, welcoming staff and management. Nothing is ever too much for Yasin and Naz. We look forward to many more visits...during 2023.More
