I have been to this restaurant many times and really love it. We came here for our 'wedding breakfast' (quite literally) and had a full English breakfast. Everything was so well cooked and very tasty and we had complimentary Buck's Fizz. We also visited for an evening meal and both had the lamb which was beautiful. The food here is... More

A little cafe like during the day and morphs into more of a restaurant feel in the evening. Some of the dishes can be expensive for what they are but the standard is high, the wines reasonably priced and the staff very welcoming and attentive. Better than a gastro pub.

My partner and I stopped by for luncheon today. We had seen it before and wanted to give it a chance. Glad that we did. A cold if sunny day the warm restaurant was great to get into after a bit of light shopping. The staff are friendly and efficient. The decor is pleasant and modern. A good atmosphere with... More

Loved Samphire, lovely decor and friendly service. Catch of the day was some lovely Gurnard, which was very fresh and tasty, my wife had Mussels in a cider and onion sauce, the mussels were again fresh and of good size, not cheap but worth it for a special night out. The booking system was very easy and we would definitely... More

Met an old school friend here for dinner without checking menu beforehand. I was surprised at the high prices but assumed this would be reflected in the food I was served. The menu was very wordy but difficult to read as on a chalkboard outside, all I can say is they talked a good game but when the food arrived... More

Sunday night and this place is busy! Booking is recommended. Great service, lovely atmosphere and food is excellent! We chose starters of mackerel and scallops - both were perfectly presented and tasty. Main courses were haddock chowder and pan fried cod (day boat catch) served on bed on potatoes, peppers and chorizo - well presented and delicious. A marvellous place!

Popped in yesterday at lunchtime on the off chance. Always such friendly staff. We started with the soup - two huge bowls of velvety, creamy, spicy, aromatic carrot soup with a little pile of some wonderful herbs and spices in the middle (they had a special name which I can't recall) and a lovely dollop of cream on top -... The starter was bread and olives. Good but very salty miniature crackers. For the main I had the potato cake with the duck egg. It was a tasty starter, though could have done without the gritty spinach! The wife had the leek gratin which she said she loved. The boy had chicken goujons which were nicely done and something interesting... More
