I went into the Mad Hatter with my mum spur of the moment for lunch. What an experience! The mad hatter is a lovely man encouraging us to look around the whole building and really friendly. The decor is whacky, so many things to look at and take in from tinsel to princess Diana to old Margate photos. I had... More

If you like vintage or different places to be, you need to visit this place. Really lovely snacks! And off course you need to try the homemade cakes

We went late afternoon and had the savory meals of chicken casserole and fish pie. Both were large portions and tasty. We had red and white wine with the food which were both good. We finished off with fruit cake (with sherry) and Victoria sponge cake and both were excellent. The Mad Hatter likes to give personal service to each... More

Our son and daughter-in-law had booked afternoon tea for the four of us. They had been before and told us to expect something out of the ordinary. They were right. We were greeted by the owner who was dressed as the Mad Hatter, something we found quite different. We all had slices of different cake. Victoria Sponge, Chocolate cake and... More

My friend and I had lunch here today. It has a quirky atmosphere, so much to look at. Peter and Daniel were wonderful. Thank you so much for making us welcome, we enjoyed it immensely.

AWFUL. Had to wait along time for someone to be bothered to take our order, and then took along time to bring our order. My food came before my partners. All the while surrounded by many tables that needed clearing. When my partners chicken casserole came it looked like leftovers in a small bowl. And they are charging over £11... More

We have been here about 5 times as a couple and with friends and family. The interior is like going back in time to a Victorian house. Entirely Victorian in decor. The proprietor is dressed as The Mad Hatter and he does all the baking himself. The tea house is opened only on Saturdays. You can have snacks too. I... More

Interesting with erratic service but a nice pot of tea. A slice of cake is expensive. All in all rather overpriced but an experience if in Margate.
