Lovely little pub tucked out of the way, nice garden from the summer. The staff are welcoming, the environment comfy and snug with a traditional feel, and the food is delicious. Deffo worth a visit

I met up with friends, for whom this is their local, and had lunch at the Sportsman. It was my first visit and hope to go there again soon. I had a great lunch - 2-courses for a very reasonable price - and thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed a lovely pint or two of Theakston's dark mild to wash it... More

Visited on a Friday lunchtime. We were a party of four. The place was not busy. Drinks ordered and we sat ourselves down. Then the lady behind the bar left. Chef took our orders(?) explaining that we should have told there were no suet pies being served. He also explained that the owner had gone on holiday, and that he... More
