Absolutely loved staying here. Our room overlooked a field where cows grazed, such a difference from living in London. The room itself was immaculate large comfy bed and bifolding doors opening out to a wonderful view. Friendly staff and great breakfast. If I have to say one negative thing it would be that the room was hot of a night... More

Three of us went to this pub for a meal after a visit to Sissinghurst. Everything about it was perfect. We were served by a delightful and friendly waitress . The food was excellent ,an interesting choice and beautifully presented. Although a 90 minute drive from home we would certainly go back.

Popped in for a light midweek lunch. This is a historic half timbered pub with a long history. It is a rambling pub with a number of interconnected rooms and three outside areas-tables at the front , a garden to the rear and an enclosed courtyard to the side where we sat. As a free house there was an interesting... More

We were taken by our son and his wife with her mother for Saturday lunch. They had booked the table. The location, atmosphere and surroundings were most pleasant, as was the outlook of the gardens. The quality, choice and presentation of the food was very good. The waitresses were very efficient and helpful especially the young lady from Cumbria. It's... More

We booked a table here, based on this pubs awards, for an anniversary treat. We were told we would need to sit in the bar as we had the dog with us, which is fine. Unfortunately for us they were having building work done in the small bar area (knocking through a wall and putting in a door, so serious... More

My partner and I took my parents here for dinner this weekend and it was even nicer than I had hoped it would be from its impressive array of awards. The first thing that must be said is the pub itself and the location it is in are beautiful, so allow yourself some time for outside drinks before you eat.... More

We came here as we were in the area and read some good reviews but what a nightmare. They didn't have half the lunch menu which is small and just awful anyway. The ploughmans was just some lettuce with a few chunks of cheese and stale bread! No pickle in sight! The bar staff didn't know if the chef could... More

I was sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit to our multi award winning pub recently. I would point out that the "lunch menu" to which you refer is actually our "bar snack" menu which is served in between lunch and dinner service. Bar staff would certainly have to check with the kitchen whether they could serve egg and... More

We booked a table but then had to wait while furniture was shifted to accommodate our party. The food was okay but nothing special considering the price. At the end of the meal, when decaf coffee was requested by two of our party we were told that only instant was available. It was awful and all coffees were served with... More

The hotel accommodation bedroom was very new, modern, clean and spacious, with a lovely outlook and in a separate building from the pub. A big recent investment. It cost £150/night double B&B to stay and so was not cheap. A state of the art coffee machine was excellent, and a new hairdryer but not a single mirror in the room... More
