Slightly Quirky Decor, Friendly Staff, Chalkboard menu is a bit different to most. Something for everyone. Good Value Food. Choice of drinks is not extensive, but still can be enjoyed. Been many times, at all times of day for coffee, for drinks, for food.

Impromptu lunch with a friend found us in this great little restaurant. Good food, fab wine and really friendly staff. Would highly recommend it.

Visited last Tuesday for my partner's birthday. We ate here back in April 2015 on a Saturday when the restaurant was full and the meal was superb so we were looking forward to our return trip. Between 7.30 when we arrived and 9.00 when we left we were the only diners in the restaurant, quiet night to say the least.... More

I have reviewed Brawns for their excellent lunches and dinner. This visit was specifically for Brunch, what a great varied thought out menu, not boring, not the same old same, I wanted to try it all but went for the Brawns Breakfast with homemade hash browns, wonderful. And the coffee was £2 each. Great place and a must try.

Try here, it's an absolute must for anyone in a cowes, or Southampton for that matter, we jumped on the redjet for £9 return. First impressions of the restaurant are not what I'd call wow, it looks a little worn and tatty, but suppose that's due to the tiles being listed!! Put that all aside and move onto the food..........wow... More

Nice food in a great venue, old butchers! Nice touch of hand wash and hand cream!! Food was rushed we felt, too much salt added nearly perfect. duck perfect! Steak needed something changed possibly high extreme heat to start as it felt to wet for steak. Staff were excellent couldn't fault them! Wine selection very good.

Five weeks in England and this is one of the BEST restaurants we ate at. Food is creative and perfectly cooked. We would go back to Cowers just to eat here. Very small place on the old high street.

Best food on the island. We had the place to ourselves as it was the first evening on that day for the season. A small spot so a reservation is recommended. Fantastic chef.

My friends and I had an amazing culinary experience at Brawn's of Cowes. I started with a simple green salad that was dressed perfectly. I followed with the most delicious duck I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I pride myself on not over-eating but, that night, I ate until I could not consume another bite! My friends felt... We needed a nice, un-touristy, restaurant for a celebration meal whilst on holiday and we found just the place. The manager was very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The food was absolutely delicious - could have been more choices on the menu though. The crab starter was excellent - we all enjoyed every course in fact. Will come back... More

A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes
Brawns is a small, intimate European Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago.

Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge.

His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu.

The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.
