A Modern European Restaurant in Cowes
Brawns is a small, intimate European Restaurant, located in the old quarter of Cowes town. Set in a Grade two listed Georgian building, sympathetically converted a few years ago.

Charles Paul, owner and Chef, was trained in London, and having done a stage at the Fat Duck in Bray, went on to work for a high class restaurant in Cambridge.

His inspiration for the food is to use high quality, fresh seasonal produce, locally sourced where possible. Diners will always find brasserie favourites on the a la carte menu, as well as some more modern offerings. The specials will change on a daily basis, to ensure there is something new to tempt you. Those looking for tasty food at excellent value can also choose from the set price midweek menu.

The wine list will be small, but has been carefully chosen to compliment the food. Those on a budget will not be disappointed by the more affordable wines, as they have still been selected to impress.

Birthday Lunch

We were invited to Brawns for a Birthday lunch recently and think we have found a hidden secret in Cowes. The food was excellent and service good.

It was an excellent find on TripAdvisor and certainly lived up to the great reviews. A family meal for 14 celebrating a birthday. All ages and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Great service, great food, unusual and so delicious. The toilet is also something to behold. I would come back here.

A short menu but perfect for what we wanted / a not too heavy post Christmas / Pre New Year lunch - good ingredients well treated ! Possibly could have done without the music but that's a minor niggle

Not many people know about Brawns, which is great as you can get a table. If everyone knew it is probably the best food in the High St the place would be booked for months in advance ! If you are visiting try this place it is excellently run and the food is fantastic. One of those ones you will... More

I have lived in Cowes for almost ten years and eaten in most restaurants. I visited Brawns for the first time tonight (21/11/15) and it is by a long way the best restaurant in town. The wine list is small but well balanced and excellent, the service is efficient, friendly yet unobtrusive and the food was excellent. If you want... More

Seriously impressed with this place! The old butcher's shop is a lovely room, beautifully decorated and lit. If I have a tiny complaint it is that the door opens straight into the restaurant and there can be a swirling cold draught at times! But that's a minor quibble... The food is superb. I had the chicken liver parfait as a... More

Our first visit to Brawn's having recently moved to Cowes. A small restaurant located in an old butcher shop which still has the original tiles on the walls. We were greeted warmly on arrival and there is a warm and friendly atmosphere. Although the menu is limited the food was very well cooked and presented. We particularly liked the squid... More

Stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way back to the mainland, we both had the roast which was quite honestly the best meal I have had in years! As soon as I tasted the first mouthful I knew it had been prepared by a real chef, didn't want the meal to end and will DEFINATELY come back!
