Went into Saffron and observed many people complaining because they had waited 30 minutes. We decided to leave and went down the road to Cowes Tandoori. Fantastic food. Very fresh. Portions so large we had to take them away. Highly recommend.

Excellent selection of curry and well describe with how hot they are for the inexperienced. Inside decor bit basic but the food and service makes up for that.

14 out for a meal - we pre-ordered in advance and actually the food wasn't too bad apart from the wait which was lengthy resulting in rice's and sides being cold by the time the main arrived...! These were grudgingly replaced (microwaved) and returned. With 14 people and pre-ordered in advance each of us knew exactly what we would pay... More

We turned up late during Cowes week and didn't have time to check this place out on TA which was just as well as, had I read some if these reviews we wouldn't have risked it! Really glad we did as our meal was one of the best curries we've had in a while! The staff were also friendly and... More

We had the very good value Tuesday special - almost any starter, main, rice or bread plus coffee for just £10.95. Coupled with BYO drinks with no corkage it makes for unbeatable value for money. Everything was fine but we both found the food bland, plenty of food colouring but not much in the way of spice. And we are... More

Our party of 8 visited on the evening of the annual Round the Island Race when Cowes is buzzing and restaurants are packed. The front of house couldn't get us in quick enough! The main restaurant area looked nice but we were taken upstairs to a room at the top of the building that they were trying to pack 12... More

Great food, really nice meal - but then got the bill which I calculated to be £50 and they pumped up to £75. The guy agreed immediately (too quick) that it was wrong and then attempted to re-submit a new price. I refused to pay as it was a Tuesday special and they were quoting the weekend menu. They accepted... More

Walked in off the street and were offered a table for two. The waiter was very unfriendly (bit worrying). Ordered a bottle of wine mainly based on the price as we were on a bit of a budget. Had an average meal nothing horrible but certainly nothing special! Asked for the bill which came to more than we thought. Added... More

The kids' Korma was great. My vindaloo was pants. When will Indian restaurants realise that potato is NOT an ingredient of vindaloo. Originally it was pork, vinegar and garlic from the Portuguese settlers. Lookup vinegar and garlic in Portuguese and you'll get Vindaloo. Not a bit of Aloo near it. Maybe they do it because they think it's Anglicised. Anyway,... More

I was stunned to be sat in a bland restaurant that served bland food with no spice involved and arrogant staff with the charisma of a sea sponge. I was further disappointed when some fellow guests arrived with a crate of cider and proceeded to open the crate in order to consume the stuff at the table beside us with... More
