Visited the Grand Junction Arms with my daughter on Sunday lunchtime. We both had the pumpkin ravioli and it was gorgeous. For pudding we had the ale sticky pudding it was out of this world I said to my daughter this is the best Pudding I have had for ages. All the puddings coming out looked amazing. Lovely staff, good... More

We stopped off here for lunch while we were out on a walk. The pub welcomes walkers and there is a nice little area where you can remove your wellies and walking boots which is a great idea and there is plenty of outdoor seating by the canal. Our lunch was really nice, if you like a decent sandwich this... More

Thank you very much for our meal on Saturday. Even though we were such a big group (12 people), service was second to none and every single member of our group was loved his/her food. Tring is a bit out of our way, we were in the area for a walk in the Chilterns, but your place made us want... More

Me and my wife called in at the Grand Junction Arms while we were out walking along the canal towpath. Although the pub was very busy inside we only waited a minute or so to get a couple of drinks and order one crayfish and prawn and one ham and apple sandwiches from the very friendly and sociable staff. Not... More

This was the second time we visited this friendly pub and enjoyed another delicious meal. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented and the only thing that stopped me giving an excellent score was the rather disappointing white sliced bread that accompanied the soup.

We broke our towpath walk here for a well-earned pint and a light lunch. There was a large funeral party in the bar, so we ate in the garden: no great hardship, as it was a sunny day and the canal-side ambiance is lovely. Staff were friendly and the food was delivered promptly and was just what we wanted: tasty,no-frills... More

Yesterday I had Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon all for under £8. The best plate of grub I've tasted for a long while in a lovely pub with excellent service and a view of the canal. Splendid.

Four of us dined at this very pleasant pub/restaurant this evening. The decor is modern, fresh and inviting and there were spring flowers on every table, in lovely art deco vases - nice touch. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Good choice of dishes on the menu, all of which were presented very... More

Service was ok, except that main courses arrived at same time as starter! (All dishes brought by same waitress in one trip.) Food was average at best - rather soggy fishcake, and similar burger which was also rather small (dwarfed by the large bun); sandwich was enormous and quite nice but accompanying salad disappointing. Overpriced for the quality. We won't... More

We have moored up here many times over the last few years. Good food and always a good real ale on tap. The management have been good about us leaving the car in the car park overnight and seem very boater friendly. Great walks around the Tring reservoirs and bird sanctory from here, so the Grand Junction Arms also make... More
