I'm not a big fan of eating in the pubs and what a surprise .. very good menu with options for everyone ... I tried today gnocchi with butternut squash... it was beautiful and delicious ... very nice service and nice design of the pub. Very good

Everyone and anyone welcome. Families a speciality. No airs and graces, Mick and his team do a very good job twelve months of the year. You may occasionally have to wait to be served, but it aint fast so calm down, you're there to relax!

Ate there Monday 11th, and one of our party wanted gluten free. As per Archie M's party, they called beforehand to alert the staff, but unlike Archie M's experience, there were no issues in her getting the aforementioned gluten free meal - so maybe the issue before is staff related, as opposed to being an endemic problem. Their menu even... More

Over from Ireland and visited here with my cousin and friends. Really enjoyed the food. We all fancied the starters so got a large selection and wasn't sorry!! Really scrumptious. Only Criticism was they kind of booted us out very early!! We were the only ones there and were enjoying our chats and wine and had to leave around 10.30ish.... More

Wonderful location and should have been a perfect end to a great day on the canal. Sadly the ladies loos smelt pretty bad, the floors were very wet, and the basin area flooded and covered with toilet roll ( disabled loos fine). I judge any eating establishment by the attention they pay to the state of the loos and this... More

We dined here as a group today for a special event. We had booked ahead and alerted the pub more than 24 hours before that one of our party was coeliac and to ask which dishes were, or could be made, gluten free. The pub were really helpful and we made menu choices and were told by the pub that... More

Had lunch here twice. Food freshly cooked, and lots of it. Plenty of parking. Can eat outside in good weather, views are stunning. Great atmosphere and staff polite and friendly, whatever time of day. We will be going back as it is now a favourite.

Quite a noisy place on our first visit at lunchtime with mums & kids; and timber flooring adds to the volume. Beer and sandwiches I rated a little expensive but were served with chips or soup and had plenty of filling, so I guess good value. Service was friendly and prompt. It's certainly worth a try if you're passing.

We had lunch recently at the Grand Junction Arms. We have eaten several times over the last 18 months. The food is getting better and better. On my last visit I ordered the hake with a herb crust and chargrilled fennel. This was a stunning dish. I have been lucky enough to eat in a lot of good restaurants. This... More

A traditional pub nestling alongside the tow path of the grand union canal. You can enjoy fantastic views of the water from the garden or inside the pub , plus there's a large carpark.
Use the free WiFi, read the papers, enjoy a capuccino or a three course meal.
Something for everyone
