Visited the Stockton Cross over the weekend. The food was slow and certainly not worth the wait or the money. Not very welcoming. We won't be going back.

Ordered ham with flat bread, a BLT and a Brie with Cranberry. The barmaid was very helpful. and courteous. Full marks there. However the food was practically inedible. The BLT bacon was hardly cooked. The presentation of the ham with flatbread was beyond belief. The brie came with half a jar of cranberry poured over the granary bread. Really if... More

Hi Peter, Thanks for your review and apologies if our food didn't meet your obviously higher standards than we cater for. Could I ask why you didn't tell us why you weren't happy with your meal whilst you were here rather than tell the bar maid once during the check back and again when paying that everything was fine? If... More

I last visited this lovely old fashioned pub in October 2015, the food, drinks and service were significantly better. We visited our family in Tenbury recently and remembered how pleasant out last outing at this pub was. We FIRST went on a Sunday night at 7pm hoping to get a lovely roast dinner but unfortunately we were very disappointed that... More

Thanks for the review, could you tell us where the signs are that you have seen that state we serve food all day as I have spent hours driving and can't find them anywhere, the only ones we have had erected state that the pub is open 7 days a week 11 am to 11 pm, nothing about food service... Pub is old and interesting. Young staff very polite and made conversation to both couples and solo customers. We decided to have a meal after work to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, just something simple. We ordered the Steak Burger and Lamb Burger . Meal and drink for £10 per person. Excellent meal, good quality meat, cooked to perfection. Local real ale... More

Pub is nice, very good choice of beer. The lady behind the bar was very pleasant but seemed to be the only person working on site. The sirloin, although well cooked and tender, did not have very much flavour. The gammon was over done and tough. The hot fish platter was very nice. Overall, disappointing

Why oh why do eateries presume that diners go out together to indulge in non conversation . We stopped for Sunday lunch. Welcome was beyond question. Service was exemplary and the young staff were so polite and helpful. Sunday lunch was spot on . Inside and outside dining meant we could sit out in the sun. We would have stayed... More

We called for lunch on the way into Herefordshire and it was pleasant and quiet so we decided to stop off on the way home at the end of the holiday for Sunday lunch. The staff were welcoming and the food was delicious. The whole establishment was dog friendly. The only small criticism was the muzac which was not necessary.... More

Been to this dog and child friendly pub on three or four occasions now, ( it's on our way home after family visiting in Gloucester ) most recently on 22nd March this year. Very attractive 16th century pub. Heavily beamed with a huge open fireplace. Has outside seating at the font - lovely in the summer I'm sure. Warm welcome,... More

Description
The Stockton Cross Inn is a 16th century black and white pub in Kimbolton. Here at The Stockton Cross we are passionate about great tasting seasonal 'pub grub' and we aim to source our produce as locally as we can. We are open 11am-11pm every day and serve food from 12 - 8 Tuesday to Saturday and Sunday roasts 12 - 4. We serve local cask ales & local cider and our wines are sourced from Tanners. We also use these Herefordshire made ales and ciders in many of our dishes. We have a large beer garden at the face of the pub and an ample carpark at the rear.
