We have been going to this restaurant for years and have known it when the food was absolutely delicious. I had heard it had gone downhill and decided to try again only to find that it was below average at best. It's either a new chef or the old has got other things on his mind. The bottom line is... We had our wedding reception here. The staff were helpful and friendly and really accommodated us throughout the whole process. The communication was excellent, the food was lovely. We had our own little section in the conservatory bit so it felt very private. Lovely grounds, really pretty. Couldn't have asked for a better day. Very happy

I haven't been for a little as it is quite pricey. Lovely atmosphere although it can get very noisy.

This place was lovely and I would like to give it 4 stars if only the toilets were cleaner and the outside tables wiped down between customers. If it worked out mobility access to the garden better and even inside as there are a lot of steps and slope and if the service staff serviced outside as well as in... More

A lovely old building, The menu on display outside is only half of the full menu. The place portrays itself as being upmarket with prices to match. Despite the impression they are trying to create the expectation is that you order at the bar and carry everything apart from food to your table. We walked into the place, found the... More

Had a get together of eight old friends. I booked the meal so concerned that the meal and venue would be please everyone in our group. I need not have worried as the staff were very attentive but placed in a private area where we were not disturbed by any other diners. It was a hot day so we had... More

Lovely pub derived restaurant. Good service, food served hot and within a reasonable time. Probably not best suited to restless kids as it is quite upmarket but if you can get them to sit fairly still and behave for an hour then it's worth it! We went for Sunday lunch which was very nice.

An enjoyable family gathering with good food and drink. We had a bit of a wait at times but we weren't in a hurry and there was11of us. The service was good but we were disappointed that there was only one rabbit special as two of us wanted it!

My husband & I took a friend of ours here for Sunday lunch. We all had lovely starters. I had the Bury black pudding potato cake with poached egg & whisky hollandaise sauce, my husband had the roasted Portobello mushrooms & our friend had the lamb koftas. We all ordered main courses from their Sunday roast menu. My husband had... More

That was a very interesting meal. It was also very good and very well cooked. Had an exiting time there to. Although I must admit it is rather expensive there to have the full works ie starter, main course & sweet/pudding.
