Nice food albeit pricey, beautiful surroundings and a real air of authenticity about the place but the staff will not make you feel special in any way whatsoever. Everything is too much for them. If you're a minute late - they won't serve you anything, if you want a slight change to the menu - they will not make any... More

Set in beautiful countryside. This quaint old public house. Serves up some superb food. We were very impressed. Slightly quieter than I would of liked. Difficult to have an intermate conversation.

It's a long time since I've had a meal this bad. Ok apparently it was new staff but the food was bland. I had ordered a chicken and mushroom pie. The steak and ale pie that turned up ( I accepted the apology) was a steak and tomato pie with stalks of some herb in. My partner ordered a chicken... More

Belated 70th birthday lunch for husband and his twin sister in the pub they last visited 50 years ago! We received a very friendly welcome and interest in husband's reminiscences from his earlier visits. The pub was very busy for a Thursday lunch time but this didn't detract from the great service we received (even though brother-in-law's mustard never arrived)... More

Has been a few years since we visited but were in the area and brought our 4 friends. We all had starters, mine was a warm chicken and bacon salad which was huge and would have been enough for my main course alone. All our mains were great, I think 3 of us had the liver and all said it... More

We have been here a few times now and have always been delighted, but this visit just topped the lot. Roast dinners all round, one pork, one beef and one chicken. I have to say that the meat quality was absolutely first class. The chicken a delight. Falling off the bone and moist as you like. Pork perfect with just... More

I wouldn't say the food is first class, although above average but the atmosphere and friendliness makes up for it. Family and pet friendly they even provide dog bowls with clean water outside. A lovely pub to go and lose yourself for a couple of hours. Down a country lane, it's a beautiful place to enjoy the peace and quiet.... More

Visited for dinner with a friend, and was an excellent evening. Very good atmosphere, was given a warm welcome when entering with the welcoming and friendly atmosphere continuing all throughout the evening. Wonderful service. The food offered is all made to order, fresh from the kitchen with local meat and produce used. The chefs specials offer a wonder choice of... More

Went here for a Family birthday party, Had never been before so were relying on luck and reviews. There were 10 of us and this was not an issue with regard seating, and neither was the dog that was with our party. Great food and service with a friendly atmosphere. Even when the people from the local shoot arrived and... More
