The pub was very accommodating. We booked the table and took all the dogs for a glorious walk in the woods and on the Downs. They all had a brilliant time. The hosts welcomed the dogs but we left them in the car. We were able to see them from our table. Our host was so attentive and pleasant. The... More

We have not long moved to this area, my wife came across the Royal Oak when driving around to familiarise herself with the surroundings. What a great little find, we went for an early dinner, lovely well kept garden, comfy seating, high standard of customer service and a chef who can cook a steak how you ask for it. For... More

We popped in last night for a meal and it was truly scrumptious! Delicious lasagne and amazing steak; wonderful service such friendly guys! The Guinness (according to Hub) is the best pint he's had in a long time! Highly recommended! Xx

We visited here last evening and were very impressed with the appearance of the grounds when we arrived as they looked very well kept, tidy and clean. However, we were somewhat surprised that there were only another couple of tables occupied in the restaurant. We ordered our meals and were a little disappointed when they arrived, although not sufficiently enough... More

Now does this sound like the royal oak you all know and love? We have never refused service to a customer without an explanation, and a group of 18 on a birthday dinner with us at The Royal Oak had ordered 3 bottles of bubbly, and 18 glasses had to be polished and charged for the speeches, I asked for... Tried to book a table using e mail. No response. Went to pub. Closed. Internet and sign outside said it was open. It wasn't. Ate somewhere else. Happy days!!
