We went for Sunday lunch as a group of 30 & our expectations were well exceeded. They handled us really well & even got our beef out rare (as asked for). The Knicker Blocker Glorys were excellent too - thanks very much

After visiting many times i thought i should finally write a review. We have eaten here many a time and have never been disappointed, the food is served fresh and of very generous portion sizes. But that is what can be expected for the price range. We also recently had a birthday celebration here and we were situated in the... More

I gather this pub has recently had new owners & a renovation. It shows. The interior is clean, fresh & still characterful. The menu is varied and caters for most tastes. The kids portions are massive. We ordered our little girl the kids fish and out came a 4-5oz battered fillet with chips & peas. Probably enough for a small... More

An unfortunately long wait for snack foods to arrive mid-afternoon. We had to go back and ask and when the food arrived were told they were very busy (we couldn't see evidence of this) and that we had been informed of the 45 minute wait (we had not). Very little in the way of apology and we felt unwelcome visitors... More

Arrived on Sunday around 12:30, the garden area looks as if has recently been upgraded with lots of new benches tables. Plenty of space and some for the kids to stretch their legs whilst waiting for lunch. A really extensive menu and thankfully some thought as gone into creating it with lots of dishes I haven't seen on a pubs... More

Visited Hilltop tonight, what an improvement from 12 months ago. Friendly welcoming staff, good food and excellent beer. The garden area has been improved. Great improvement all round. Well worth a visit.

So, on the way back from Exbury Gardens, we popped into this pub - simply because we passed it. It is a quaint clean and very friendly pub. Importantly it is dog friendly - they are allowed inside and out. The menu is extensive, there is also a children's menu. Prices are exactly as I would expect. All portions are... More

Had a run out and ended up in the New Forest, as it was lunch time we called in on what looked like a shabby exterior. There were several diners both inside and on the garden (this area tends to be used by dog owners). I ordered fish & chips whilst my wife ordered a Stilton Ploughman's. Both arrived at... More

Went waking with a friend and popped in for lunch. Was lovely sat in the spacious garden. It's about 20 minutes walk from Beaulieu up hill so good exercise. Nice choice on the menu and reasonably priced.

Description
The Royal Oak is a family run historic pub set in the New Forest. It offers an excellent range of real ales and ciders, as well as lovely homemade food and desserts. The pub is near to local attractions such as Beaulieu motor museum, Lepe beach and Exbury gardens. Great for family, the beer garden and childrens play area offers a great resting point for days out.
