We booked a table at this restaurant as it was the perfect meeting location for a large family get together. When we arrived we stood at the bar for ages waiting to order a drink, 2 waitresses were walking backwards and forwards behind the bar but were not making any eye contact and with the growing number of people waiting... we held our club dinner here again this year and were not disappointed, 20 people sat down to eat, we were served a 3 course dinner. very good size portions, in all courses and all special dietry needs catered for.there was plenty to go round with some over, all sweets were spot on and beverages served with a warm mince... I wish I could give zero stars. The pub itself was freezing cold - our family had to wear our coats. Then the food arrived. It was disgusting. The carrots were raw. The gravy was water. The 'roast' beef was covered with gristle and fat, and covered in green blotches so was left untouched (see images!). The Yorkshire puddings were... More

We chose this place as our Lunch stop mid route from Kent to Dorset and boy are we glad we did. The Staff are very friendly and helpfull and thats before you get the food. We was in a group of four and had different dishes which all came out together. Lamb Chops were clearly Locally sourced going by there... More

We were recommended to come here when we needed a late lunch after visiting the area to look at a classic car. We were made very welcome on a quiet midweek November day, and our arrival at about 2.30 was no problem. Food very good, and if the Cajun hake with ratatouille is on the specials board again, go for... More

Been visiting this place for 27 years on and off. In it's heyday I've known them to turn out over 600 meals a day on a Summer weekend, without a single serious complaint. I've also been there and had a very disappointing meal. Like all 'destination' pubs, the Tyrell has suffered an overall loss of trade over the past years... More

We have been here twice now, both times on a Sunday. The roast dinner is delicious and so big it's almost impossible to fit dessert. The service is very prompt, which is great when you have a toddler. Will definitely be visiting more.

Spent the morning wandering around the new forest decided to find somewhere for lunch,. Found this pub, pleasant location plenty of parking. Food is good and freshly cooked and really appeared to be "home" cooked, pleasant staff and nice atmosphere. Would recommend, thank you.

Firstly my drink was served in a glass with what I would concider a large chip, then after ordering our meal we decided to let my son go and play on their park which is cool, when we got back to our table where we had left full drinks and a jacket our drinks had been cleared away. My sons... More

I haven't been here for quite some time and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food just what you would expect for a Sunday lunch. Even offered kids dinners for us who knew we wouldn't eat full ones. One for the future I think....
