We were 2 adults and 1 toddler. The staff were really friendly and attentive, they provided small cutlery for our little one without being asked and they included her when we ordered. The food was nice quality and it was a cosy atmosphere. Lots of...choices for gin which was great. The table we were on was squeezed into a corner which was fine once we were in and they did check we were okay to sit there, but just a heads up for people who don't like to be in small spaces !More

Have visited before and was happy to book again. The pub has a cosy old world charm but at the same time provided a clean and safe environment during the current unpleasantness. We were greeted and shown to our table in a friendly efficient manner....The food was excellent well prepared with tasty combinations. Overall a pleasant reasonably priced experience. Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming.More

I love this pub. Staff are super, food is varied and good quality, location is perfect. Covid measures absolutely on the button. I moved back home to Lyndhurst 4 months ago after running my own pub in the Cotswolds.(I have also worked In food manufacturing...and marketing in the Foodservice Industry for over 30 yrs. I would like to think I know 'my stuff'). This is part of a chain and normally chains lose that personal touch, not here, quite the opposite, in fact my dog is better known than me! 🤔 If I have a criticism, it's not of the pub, location, food or staff. It's the pricing. Quite expensive. FAO Fuller's - if the consumer cant travel due to Covid, or tourism is low due to tiers, you can only rely on locals. If you want to increase footfall, it's time to incentivise the customers on your doorstep! Well done Team Fox and Hounds, you can always tell a well run pub, the team are happy. Keep up the good work in these trying times.More

For good honest pub grub, you won’t do better. Went in for a mulled wine, 3 hours later left after a brilliant meal! Starter of calamari, cooked to perfection, washed down with pint of hophead. The game faggots and gnocchi for mains were an absolute...treat.More

Although we only wanted a drink current circumstances meant we had to eat & very glad we did. The pub is lovely with good outdoor space. The food & service was very good & all necessary safety measures in place. Look forward to returning when...hopefully normality returns.More

I had been here years before and it was great pub food so we visited after searching on a Sunday for a roast dinner. I am sorry to have to say but the roast was awful. All of the vegetables were really hard, I couldn't...even get a fork into the carrot. The roast potatoes seemed as if they had been cooked hours ago and the only good part of the meals were the roast beef and the nut loaf. This meal with two orange juices cost £35 when I could have got a better meal in the Sainsburys cafe.More

Booked an evening spot for drinks and food. Both service and food were excellent and staff very chatty/ friendly. It’s a nice cosy atmosphere in this pub as well which contributed to a really enjoyable evening.

Just came to Lyndhurst for the day, we came here from some lunch. Really lovely pub food and we were served by Jonny who was just fantastic, polite, charming , helpful and a real asset to this pub. I own a pub/restaurant myself and I...would employ him in a heartbeat. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch !More
