Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the new 'upgraded' pub/restaurant over a weekend whilst visiting friends (refurbishment undertaken by the end of last year according to staff). We had first class service throughout our lunchtime stay, so friendly and professional for just beer/wine and sandwiches (with chips 😃)! My wife and I only come over to Hampshire 2 or 3 times... First visit to this absolutely stunning pub in a stunning location. The whole evening was spent in the lovely garden and was just fab!

Visiting on a Saturday lunchtime there were a dozen or so people in the garden and two other people indoors. The bar service was indifferently and un-apologetically slow. We found and browsed a menu with what I can only describe as ambitious prices (£8 for a cheese sandwich? In a pub? Really?) only to be told there was a food... More

Eat here often but was disappointed with the service and the food last night, must have been a bad night as normally great service and food.

Booked via open table an hour or so earlier and surprised they had a table. Set in a small hamlet north west of winchester, very quaint ... Where's miss Marple? The moment we entered the pub/restaurant I felt reassured the food would be worth the trip down from Basingstoke. The small bar was crowded by locals which gave us the... More

We met up with some friends here for lunch one weekend recently, at their suggestion, having never visited before. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised, with attentive service, a good range of food on the menu and good Gluten Free options encountered. The price was perhaps slightly on the high side for what was received, but overall the experience... More

Delicious meal here with family. Service good and friendly. We shared the tasting plates - fish one was better than the meat. We enjoyed a range of food from fish and chips to steak to lamb. Desserts were yummy- chocolate fondant, creme caramel and local cheese. Book to ensure you can get a table.

To appreciate the true England you must get out of the big cities. This hotel is located in a secluded village with a street full of thatched cottages and of course the local Church. Close to the hotel is a fishing River. The hotel is friendly and comfortable with good food. Winchester Cathedral is a short distance away as is... More

Father's Day lunch. Service was good food was average to good. For us just another pub trying to be more but isn't. Plus side is easy to park and easy to find and is in a lovely part of the world.
