I loved the atmosphere, friendly staff and great choice of wines here. The food is excellent, gourmet pub food. Definitely worth splashing out on but it's popular so don't forget to book.

Have been wanting to try this place for a long time so headed to Stockbridge one crisp sunny Sunday. The Peat Spade has a lovely atmosphere. Traditional and stylish contemporary. We ordered pork Sunday lunch which was one of the tastiest we've had in a long time. Waiting staff were lovely although a little disorganised- two different people came to... More

Went here a couple of days ago , nice atmosphere inside the pub. For my meal I ordered the halloumi avocado and pecan salad which was £13 so I was expecting something special. When the salad came out the halloumi was overcooked , tasted very burnt and bitter, brimming with carcinogens , didn't enjoy it at all. There was about... More

We booked for eight o'clock. Got there half an hour prior. Sat in the small garden at the rear and ordered a couple of glasses of house wine. Merlot. Quafable. Nothing special. Pub majors in looking after the trout fishermen who are too proud to be seen in Tesco's. Take your black Labrador and you'll have lots to talk about... More

This is a busy pub and restaurant on a Friday evening and we found the noise did not make for a pleasant relaxed evening. If you want something buzzy it may well be OK. The menu was all rather similar with burgers and lots of high carb dishes. We opted for the smoked trout and asparagus starter only to be... More

Arrived on a Saturday evening to be advised there was no space for food. Managed to talk the team into serving us food in the beer garden, maybe that could have been offered to start with. Food was fine, although possibly a little over-priced. Good beer.

What a fantastic restaurant.. When we entered we were greeted by the lovely bar staff who welcomed us and took our drinks order... We were advised our table was ready but asked if we wanted to have our drinks before we proceeded to the table, we did and asked to be shown to the garden... The garden is lovely maintained... More

We stopped at the Peat Spade early on Saturday evening (6.45) looking for a hot meal to break our journey home. 'have you booked'? ( No, we haven't) as we stood in amongst 10 empty tables. We can't possibly fit you in then, all the tables are booked and double booked. The tone was condescending, so we didn't bother to... More

We stopped in for lunch with our dogs and we were all made very welcome. We had a lovely lunch, food was great and they had an excellent selection of beers.

Really busy evening but the service managed and the food is really fresh and tasty. The wine list is also varied and not too expensive. It's tucked away but worth hunting out and they also have rooms on site. Table reservations are needed. Staff did seem little stretched with amount of customers but remained friendly.
