Arrived after a long walk along the Test Way from Andover with friends. They knew this pub, so it was recommended. We arrived towards the end of the Friday lunch service, so the staff suggested we should order a few dishes straight away. We had fish cakes, followed by a couple of the sharing platters (one seafood, one charcuterie), which... More

Went today with mother-in-law! She loved it and so did we. The atmosphere was buzzy and lively, the log fire was welcoming, the ale and cider were excellent and the food was well presented, tasty and service impeccable. The only problem was that they ran out of roast beef and the main dessert but we did book at 3pm- the... More

We had eaten at The Peat Spade previously and enjoyed a good meal. Admittedly, the meal was not cheap, but there was a small group of us and we had expected the meal to be fairly expensive. As a treat, we decided to go again, just the two of us this time. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff... More

Had lunch with a friend who lives nearby and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The service was great, we elected to sit outside which is a bit more work for them but they were very accommodating and friendly. I liked it and would go again.

My family (wife, daughter, and me) were staying in Canterbury but wanted to travel west to visit Stonehenge and the Hawk Conservancy. We stayed at The Peat Spade (within 30 minutes of both) to immerse ourselves in the country culture of this area. The Pub was all that it advertised. The rooms were comfortable and relaxing. The food was especially... More

When I first went to this pub many yeas ago I had lunch and we sat outside and I was not impressed, then I was invited back some months later to a supper date and it completely changed my mind about the pub. I have been back twice since then and the last time was very recently for a lunch... More

I loved the atmosphere, friendly staff and great choice of wines here. The food is excellent, gourmet pub food. Definitely worth splashing out on but it's popular so don't forget to book.

Have been wanting to try this place for a long time so headed to Stockbridge one crisp sunny Sunday. The Peat Spade has a lovely atmosphere. Traditional and stylish contemporary. We ordered pork Sunday lunch which was one of the tastiest we've had in a long time. Waiting staff were lovely although a little disorganised- two different people came to... More
