Having not been to this goodly inn for some years following a disappointing eating experience, we were very pleasantly impressed with the place today at lunch time. The food was beautifully presented, very tasty and reasonably priced. The cheese souffle was divine with the walnut dressing and the battered hake, the venison pie all delicious. As for the puds -yummmmm!... More

New years day lunch at the Peat Spade was a super way to start 2017. Generous roast dinners with lovely roast veg, fantastic triple cooked chips and a strong wine list at reasonable prices. The pub itself is beautifully decorated. Well worth a trip - though the floor to ceiling flyfishing photos in the loos are a bit of a... More

Visited this Sunday with the family (2 adults, 2 children) and arrived a little earlier than our table was booked for, but made welcome and sat up at the bar while the kids chilled on the sofa. Amazingly well decorated and made to feel very welcome by the staff. Friends added themselves to our table at the very last min... More

Food is very good but at a price that leads me to believe that the pub is aiming for exclusivity which is fine but left me feeling that I didn't get value for money. I am sure that this establishment can manage very well without my patronage and that is exactly the feeling I had after my visit.

Arrived after a long walk along the Test Way from Andover with friends. They knew this pub, so it was recommended. We arrived towards the end of the Friday lunch service, so the staff suggested we should order a few dishes straight away. We had fish cakes, followed by a couple of the sharing platters (one seafood, one charcuterie), which... More

Went today with mother-in-law! She loved it and so did we. The atmosphere was buzzy and lively, the log fire was welcoming, the ale and cider were excellent and the food was well presented, tasty and service impeccable. The only problem was that they ran out of roast beef and the main dessert but we did book at 3pm- the... More

We had eaten at The Peat Spade previously and enjoyed a good meal. Admittedly, the meal was not cheap, but there was a small group of us and we had expected the meal to be fairly expensive. As a treat, we decided to go again, just the two of us this time. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff... More
