A very clean, nicely laid out cafe, which in the winter isn't usually packed-out. Toilets on-site, wheelchair access ramp. A beautiful selection of cakes, pastries and hot food. I personally love their cream tea's as they give you ample fresh thick clotted cream and thick...jam with real large chunks of fruit. The scones are nice and large, to allow you to load them with cream and jam. With a freshly make pot of tea, which I can usually get THREE cups of tea from. Just what the doctored ordered to warm your heart on a chilly day. The car park has ample room with several disabled bays, some close to the shop/gardens entrance and some by the cafe itself.More

Stopped for some lunch while we were here buying fish. Had an afternoon tea here a while ago which was very nice so thought it would be just as good. Was very expensive (£7 for a toasted sandwich when on specials they do ham egg...chips & beans for £8) & wasn’t anything to write home about. Would stick to coffee & cake if I was to come again.More

This was our second choice, popped in because first choice was closed. However it was a silver lining on an a cloudy day Being a very wet Monday in November, about 1330 the pace was not crowded with plenty of seating available. We liked the..."tea room" style of decor There were "specials" available, but maybe they are there everyday? However we opted for fish & chips + scampi & chips, plus tea & coffee There is a notice about waiting times due to food being cooked to order, in the sequence the order arrives in the kitchen. I took this to mean you'll get your food freshly cooked but it may take a while. This proved to be correct I have no trouble with that but anyone expecting "fast food" may be disappointed The cakes & scones looked very tasty, but not tried Our food arrived about 20 plus minutes later, piping hot & freshly cooked. I assume from frozen given what it was. We had no complaints with the food, but sort of wished we had opted for an omelette as we saw others and they looked very appetising, a bit like in a Chinese restaurant when you see what other diners have ;-) Overall we liked it here and would not hesitate to returnMore

We had a good breakfast and the staff were friendly. Maybe a little overpriced but was freshly cooked. Disabled friendly.

Lovely surroundings, good service, delicious light lunch. We enjoyed a large pot of tea for two, followed by homemade Butternut Squash Soup (very tasty) accompanied by warm bread roll with butter portion. Chatted some more, plenty of tea in the pot - then found room...for delicious cake, sliced in half and shared - shared chocolate brownie, and ginger cake. Thank you for a pleasant lunchtime experience :-)More

Paid £7.25 for a panini for my gf only for it to turn up and they had just cut up one sausage across the whole thing. You would think they could spring to two for the price. Wait times are a bit long considering the...time it takes to prepare the food.More

We had walked round the adjacent nature reserve and popped into the cafe for coffee and snack. An Americano coffee set me back £2.40 and the menu stated it was an expresso (£1.60) with added water. The coffee was produced very quickly (I did not...pay attention to how) but had the unappealing acrid smell of having being kept hot for a long time. Things did not improve when we sat down. The coffee was hot but so weak and so devoid of any of the smells and flavours that make coffee enjoyable that it could easily have been tea. And the table was sticky. Definitely a cafe to avoid. There is a coffee shop just down the road at the garage and we'll be stopping there next time.More

11 of us have been here for the last two days for breakfast with work, I've never been before and was pleasantly surprised. We pre-ordered so only had to wait a few minutes for our orders to arrive. The decor is lovely, very country kitchen...style and the food is made really well and they make beautiful looking home-made cakes (I haven't tried these yet but will next time). Then after you've eaten you can go for a lovely stroll around World of Water to see the ponds and lake.More

Popped in on my way back from a dog walk along canal/nature reserve and decided on a sarnie and pot of tea. They kindly have a jar of dog biscuits so that’s a nice touch but to be honest for £8.95 my tea and egg...sandwich were overpriced and underwhelming. There was so much mayonnaise, or whatever the gunk was, that the egg barely featured. Cheap plain crisps to try and fill the plate. I’d expect a premium product for that price. It was bad enough that The dogs had most of it.More

Don’t bother visiting here for afternoon tea unless you want it before 3:30. Despite website times no food is served after 3:30. Staff abrupt and unhelpful. Will not visit this place again.
