We were made to feel very welcome here, when we visited with our grandchildren and dog. The children had asked for sausages, which weren't on the children's menu, but the staff obliged and they were well received. Our pie and salad options didn't disappoint and...it was a bonus the Peroni was on draught! My dry white wine was pretty good for pub wine and even the dog was treated well with a bowl of water. Covid arrangements were reassuringly good. A good experience, thank you.More

Came here for Sunday lunch, couldn’t fault anything. Excellent service and excellent food. We had roast beef and roast chicken. Both beautifully cooked with a nice selection of veg and loads of it. The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious. Had a sandwich here the...week before which was also really good. Won’t hesitate to eat here again and highly recommend it.More

Enjoyed a superb family meal here recently. The steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere added to our enjoyment. It’s our favourite pub in Petersfield and is highly recommended.

Had a Sunday roast here some time ago and decided to go back as it was so good. Sadly we were disapointed as there was hardly any beef on the plate and everything was put on smaller plates. This means when you try and add...veg there is no room to eat it easily. Veg that was already on the plate was not hot although the food that was on top of the veg was hot.More

I really do not like to leave a bad review for a pub or restaurant as I nearly always find that something went well enough for me to not warrant one and I wouldn’t like to negatively impact a business if avoided. However I am...so furious from the service and food that I experienced today that I do have to write a negative review. My family and I booked a table for 2:00 today for lunch, when we arrived we weren’t advised of longer wait times or found the pub to be especially busy. When we sat down we quickly had a drinks and food order taken which was great! Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our food which when arrived was awful, my sandwich was stone cold, my mums steak meal had the worst peppercorn sauce I’ve seen, I’ve made a better packet sauce! Raw tomatoes and undercooked chips. My Nan’s Caesar salad was three lettuce leaves, four croutons, a litre of sauce and three rolled up salmon pieces which when we opened them were green and slimy inside. When we returned the salad the server said she could something else on the menu at no extra cost. Apart from when the bill came she had been charged for the fish and chips she eventually had. We refused to pay this to which the server replied the there was nothing wrong with the salmon she returned and it “comes in like that”. My Nan would’ve been sick had she eaten that fish! I will not be returning (Which from the impression I received from the server we wouldn’t be welcome anyway) and I highly recommend choosing any other establishment in Petersfield!!!More

A cheeky pint of London Pride at the Square whilst waiting for a friend. And why not. Friendly welcome with a full range of Fullers ales with plenty of sports on screen.

Popped in for lunch unexpectedly today and we received delicious food, excellent Red Wine (suggested by the barman) and charming service - the staff really are a credit to this pub!

We had a family lunch and despite making a booking the day before the staff had to rush around to get a table ready when we arrived. The food was good and the staff friendly committing that awful crime of calling us ‘Guys’.

Nice enough roast, good service, decent atmosphere, but the beer is expensive. I'll happily pay £4-5 for a decent craft cask pint but £4.65 for a pint of Fuller's seems way too much.

Great location, right on the square. Decent menu, reasonable drink choices. Free WiFi, not certain about parking? Not cheap, but we are talking Petersfield. Friendly and welcoming staff, but beware the guy with the Dalmatian dog. Don't get me wrong, probably a really nice guy...but...he INSISTS on standing at a corner of the bar, where his bloody dog...literally refuses to budge an inch...so that EVERY man, woman and staff member, must negotiate themselves past it. Do everyone a favour my friend. Lose the dog...or sit/stand somewhere else. Recommended if the above is instigated.More
