Ambience, service, quality of surroundings and then the food! If you are looking for a gastro pub this is not it, it is fine dining with beautiful presentation The chef is outstanding and yes, you wait between courses but it is all freshly prepared and piping hot. A place for special occasions but definitely not young children as it would be wasted... More

We had the lunchtime tasting menu. My favorite was the mackerel and rhubarb - every mouthful a taste sensation.

My wife and I have been meaning to go to this establishment for quite a time. It certainly came up to its expectations. We stayed in a lovely room above the restaurant. Good furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The evening meal could not have been better absolutely excellent. We look forward to another visit. Many thanks to the staff.

We have visited 36 on the Quay several times over the last 2 years after quite a long gap and have never been disappointed. The first time we didn't realise it had lost its Michelin Star due to a change of chef and you certainly couldn't tell from the quality of the food. (Our hobby is eating out in Michelin... More

We chose 36 on the Quay for a celebratory meal and we were delighted we had done so. The restaurant, as its name suggests, is on the quay at Emsworth. It has an attractive dining room and was completely full on the night we visited. We chose the eight course tasting menu, with wine pairings. Our meal was excellent. three... More

This is the 2nd time we've been to 36 on the Quay last minute. From the moment we rang on the off chance that there many be a free table they were helpful and friendly. We were in luck and there was a table free. We had childcare issues so hand to bring our 2 year old with us (cringe)... More

Had dinner there after visiting the area, nice interior and a very good attempt to get good food done, but was not worth the pricing when you consider what good kitchen can provide, it is to expensive considering what you expect when you look on the reviews here. If I spend 200£ in London I eat exceptional, here it was... More

I took my partner for a belated birthday meal. It was a Spanish evening with accompanying wines to compliment. We arrived to Cava and canapes. The welcome and service was friendly and professional... all the courses were delicious.. they even provided me with an alternative to cetain courses. The chat from the somelier was informative... It was a great evening... More

Wedding anniversary dinner booked 10 days in advance on a busy June Saturday night. Booked for 7.30 and actually arrived at 7.10 after a stroll out along the sea wall. It gets busy so you need to book and best always to arrive before the rush. At 9.45 when we left it was completely full that's a good sign as... More

A pleasant restaurant facing the harbour, if you get a table in just the right spot it makes for a great view whilst you eat your meal. The menu offers a fairly succinct selection with only around four options for each course, so it might not suit if you’re a particularly fussy eater. It also seems that you have to... More
