We stayed for 3 nights in the Vanilla room. It was expensive at £130 per night considering the bathroom is basic (no shower, just a bath) and a bit tired. Breakfast is either in the room or outside on the landing. Only continental. There's no mirror near a plug so you end up trying to prop it up somewhere within... More

I have pondered on submitting this review as it is negative but I hope that the owners take note of my comments We booked the 8 course tasting menu and the wine that is recommended to go with it. We knew that it would be an expensive evening but having eaten several other tasting menus both in the U.K. and... More

We decided on the taster menu for lunch and were very pleased we did as we got to sample lots of different flavours and textures most of which were delightful. For me the one that stood out was the 'swede and oxtail' which although sounds quite ordinary was one of the best things I have ever eaten! The razor clams... More

We had the Valentine's Taster Menu, it had a great start with the champagne, but the remainder of the meal deteriorated as each course went on. One of our scallops was tasteless, whilst the other was fine. By the time we came to the beef rib, it was tough and overcooked. The desert did not impress either, sadly. There didn't... More

The appetiser was very good and the bread although not warm was tasty and hinted at the strong flavours in the cooking to come. The scallop in the starter was very good, the pickled cabbage and other flavours on the plate were interesting....my main course of John Dory just didn't work. The flavours are adventurous so the chef should be... More

We meant to come here for years and finally got round to booking when Ramon Farthing is no longer the chef! However, we had high expectations. The appetiser was very good and the bread although not warm was tasty and hinted at the strong flavours in the cooking to come. The scallop in the starter was very good, the pickled... More

We stayed and dined on one of 36 OTQ's special offers - £200 per couple for dinner, bed and continental breakfast (plus drinks and service, which was - unusually - left to our discretion, and not automatically added). The room (Cinnamon) was lovely, and a perfectly good size. The bathroom was, let's say, cosy, but more than adequate for a... More

As soon as you're seated, the atmosphere assures you that you're in for a treat. Usually in places likes these I worry about not having enough to eat, but the portions are small and frequent with breads to start, a palate cleansers after the main etc, which ensures that you leave satisfied instead of weighty and full. Price was absolutely... More

Came here for the first time after walking past many many times. The lunch at 3 courses for £29.99 was impressively tasty, with delicate flavours and we came away full and satisfied. There were also amuse bouche and petit four included. Service was good and the views across the harbour also added to the meal. Will definitely be back again,... More
