The pub is lovely, a proper traditional homely feel. A lovely log burner to warm us up! The food was really tasty and portions were big. Good value. Good service, a really nice meal for our last night on holiday.

Booked for a group of 6 on a Thursday evening. Have lived 5 minute drive away for 15 years but this was my first visit!! It was lovely. The pub itself is done out nicely and is very welcoming. It was a bit warm when eating but the wood burner made it very cosy. We all had starters, mains and... More

Lovely little traditional pub! Low ceilings, roaring log fire and a quality pint of Guinness! Opted for the Beef dinner on this occasion and I wasn't disappointed! Plentiful portions of both meat and trimmings! Service was great too!

Called in a while back now on spec and got a table once service started. Watched staff arriving which was only negative point. Probably missed out on atmosphere as we ate early. Food was excellent - well cooked, great presentation and offered that wow factor. Would recommend highly and look forward to a return visit.

This was an old coaching inn back in the day so there's low ceilings & old fire places, which gives it a lovely comfortable feel. Waitress behind the bar was very welcoming but there didn't seem to be much staff on. It wasn't overly busy & the prices were middle of the road. I had cajun chicken with salad &... More

A very warm welcome to the Butchers Arms. One of the oldest pubs in the Forest of Dean, we have been welcoming locals and visitors alike since 1802. Our menu combines signature 'Butchers' dishes with traditional British favourites, our modern recipes and grills are all prepared by Head Chef Matt Wheeler and his team from the freshest ingredients. Wherever possible we will endeavour to provide produce from local suppliers so you can truly have a taste of the Forest of Dean. We pride ourselves in providing good quality food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. All our food is cooked fresh to order, so please allow a little time for service.
