The atmosphere was quite good. However the food was not. I chose soup of the day for a starter, Cheddar cheese and white onion, the soup itself was good but tepid no hot, the chiabatta was better. Within two minutes of finishing the first course the main arrived! For the price I paid I expected a nice thick piece of... More

Visited whilst staying next door at the Tudor Farmhouse. Pleasant pub with a pretty beer garden. Plenty of ales, ciders and whiskeys. The bar staff and locals were friendly to visitors.

It's our favourite place in our area it's not the usual pub grub, one can tell someone with real flair for cooking and imagination has cooked the food. The service is excellent and the warm, friendly cosy atmosphere is so appealing. The best kind of country pub. We always recommend The Butchers Arms. Pam and Adrian Missenden

So glad we stopped there for food, an absolute treat proper home cooked food (first visit we had the steak, ale and mushroom pie) and were so... More

Booked in as ate here about five years ago when staying in Clearwell. This time camping close by. We were delayed arriving due to bad weather but the pub happily kept our table for us. We ate in the bar as we were able to bring our dog into this area. Staff and customers very friendly. Pub nice and bright,... More

We ate here 5 nights running while staying at the hotel next door and still didn't try everything that we wanted to. It's unusual for having an extensive menu but cooking everything fresh, no microwaves in sight. That sometimes meant longish waits for food to arrive, but it was worth it. The portions are huge so choose carefully! We found... More
