We live not too far away and come here once or twice a year. You can't beat it for lunch on a sunny summer's day. The location, right by the river, is wonderful. The menu is always interesting and extremely well cooked. The staff achieve just the right balance of efficiency and informality, so that although it's a fairly pricey... More

Mid week lunch time. Drinks had to be chased, we gave up on desert and chased the bill. It wan't as if they had to cook it! All three staff stood talking, including the manager, when I asked for the bill - pathetic apologies, - due to a large table having come in which was clearly prebooked as the large... More

We were exploring the area on a weekend break, and just decided to drive to the end of a little road that seemingly just stopped at the banks of the river Severn. However we arrived and found ourselves, looking across the water at Newnham and standing beside a lovely eatery. It would have been foolish not to have stopped and... More

We visited recently with friends to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We arrived to a full car park and packed restaurant. The river runs just at the bottom of the restaurant garden. We shown to our table & ordered our drinks. We chose scallops to start then sea bass. Our waiter Anton was very helpful when choosing the wine and... More

Although they do have a cheaper River menu, we went for the dearer option as it was a special celebration and it was certainly worth it. The Roasted Hake on samphire was divine followed by an assortment of elderflower desserts. This was proper grown-up food! Everything about the food was top class (service was slightly slow but you know you... More

This was I think our fourth visit here and we enjoyed another splendid, memorable meal: oysters to start, then a mackerel dish, a main course of pan fried hake and to conclude rhubarb and custard for me and lemon tart for my partner. Food was superbly cooked and presented and service also excellent. It is admittedly on the expensive side,... More

Last visited Old Passage Inn with business colleagues and I wanted to share with my wife. Well off the beaten track but beautiful location on the Severn. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it - nice artwork from local artists adorn the walls. Seafood is speciality - although Spring Lamb also shouted out from the menu. For starters I... More

I had never been here before Saturday. My parents took me for my birthday and have raved about it for sometime. I thought it was a great location, very secret as someone else put here and I will definately go again, but maybe just to walk along the river. The food was very good but not excellent. I feel I... A lovely setting, good value fish lunch, service and wine list. If you have a helicopter, then arrange to land in the field next door and pop in for lunch , a lovely way to see the River Severn and restaurant is through the gate.

This was a great experience. Just look at the map and you will see this is an unusual and atmospheric setting. Sit on the terrace sipping something fizzy while you look at the menu and wonder at the power of the Severn ebbing and flowing. Definitely a destination for lovers of fish and seafood, though there are some tempting meat... More
