Excellent, beautifully spiced food served by polite and professional staff. It's a 50 mile round trip for us to get here from London but very worth it!! If we lived locally we would be here 2-3 times a week. May I recommend the Chicken Shaslik, king Prawn dishes and the Nan bread is amazing! Very comfortable and one the best... More

On the 27th my family returned home from a holiday so we all agreed to a good ol indian dinner. As we are local to the area (whilst having lived here for a number of years) we decided on 'Taste of Bengal' because one particular member of my family loves to come here often (if they had their way they... This is my fiancés favourite curry house and he eats here once a week with his pals. After having a few drinks in the Firkin we decided to eat here. We had 2 poppadoms and 4 onion bhajis for starter and for mains we had chicken dhansak with pilau rice and chicken shaslik with mushroom rice and 1 buttered chappati.... More

Take Away - Very enjoyable quick and easy service, food as tasty as normal Only one point - need to ensure that the dishes are not too oily. Other than that very good. Staff as always very attentive and welcoming.

This place is always good. Chicken dansak and a chicken polak, very good meals. My only thing is that the sag paneer was quite thick and pastey. Depends what chef is on.

We went mid week at around 9pm and it was great until 14 drunk and very loud men came in. The staff were excellent however and our food was delivered as ordered and on very hot plates. I had chicken and spinach main course which was nice. The mushroom bhaji and vegetable naan I wouldn't have again, the bhaji wasn't... More

A Monday evening visit for a birthday curry and as expected a quiet night in the restaurant. Service was good, the food likewise. There was nothing outstanding but nothing much to complain about. All I will say is that dishes that you expected to have a bit of a kick such as a Madras or my Dhansak didn't deliver. Would... More
